Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that UFC fans had never seen his level of fighting.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is easily regarded as one of the best fighters that the UFC has had. During his time in Dana White’s promotion, ‘The Eagle’ had never lost a single bout, yet, the five-star fighter recently revealed that fans never actually saw the limits to his game.

What did Khabib Nurmagomedov say About His Fighting?

In a recent interaction, Nurmagomedov reflected upon his fighting days. He revealed that due to his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s illness, he was never ready to push himself to his limits. While the fight against Justin Gaethje did test Khabib’s skills a bit, ‘The Eagle’ admitted that his body was dealing with a lot of injuries.

“In fights no, you’ve never seen my limit in fights. First and foremost, it was because I had lost my father, it was hard to pull myself together. Everything piled up at once, my father was gone. Training without my father, without the person I was doing this for,” Nurmagomedov stated.

He further explained, “Physically, I was not in the best shape, I had injury after injury after injury. But, mentally speaking I stayed completely sharp.”

Surely, watching Nurmagomedov has been a treat for the MMA fans. The way his rivalry with Conor McGregor panned out made ‘The Eagle’ a respected figure among the mixed martial arts community.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Comments on Comparison with Jon Jones

For a long time now, UFC fans have been debating as to who the UFC GOAT is. While the likes of Dana White have already cited Jones as the GOAT, a significant number of fans believe that Nurmagomedov’s legacy is unmatched. Reflecting on the comparison, the 29-0 fighter pointed out a key difference between the two.

Khabib said, “But achievements and legacy are two different things. I think that people tend to confuse the two things. Let's say when kids look at you and are inspired by you, that's legacy. Jon Jones has always had and will always have questions about his behavior and character but as a fighter, he is the best.”

Nurmagomedov had retired long back, but his impact is surely around among fans and critics to date.
