Rizin is starting its first show of the year with a packed card this weekend. Rizin 52 will be headlined by former Bellator champion and UFC fighter Patchy Mix taking on one of the hottest Japanese prospects, Kyoma Akimoto. The co-main event will see a PRIDE lineage fight. Luiz Gustavo, a protege of Wanderlei Silva, will take on the son of MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba, Taisei Sakuraba.

Other fights on the card will see former UFC fighter Carlos Mota take on the wily striker Yuki Ito. In a generational fight, 48-year-old Hideo Tokoro will take on grappling ace 24-year-old Jinnosuke Kashimura. The former LFA bantamweight champion John Sweeney will take on the 50+ fight veteran Shoko Sato.

If this is your first time watching Rizin, you can bet that it will be like no other MMA promotion you have seen. The rules are different in that knees and soccer kicks to the head are legal to a downed opponent. As well, the fights are judged as a whole instead of round by round. Also this show will be in a ring.

We have created a handy guide on how to watch Rizin 52.
