Following his UFC Noche win, the former two-time flyweight champion is rumored to face Charles Johnson next, and fans are far from happy about it.
After a two-fight skid, Moreno returned to the win column with a split decision win against Joseph Morales on 12 September.
Ranked #9 in the flyweight division, ‘The Assassin Baby’ is rumored to fight #14-ranked Charles Johnson next. However, many fans believe it would be a mismatch and a step down in competition for the former champion.
Fans Irked by Brandon Moreno vs. Charles Johnson Fight Rumor
Per Championship Rounds, the UFC is in the works to make Brandon Moreno vs. Charles Johnson next for UFC 335, which is expected to take place in December.
A fan expressed that the matchmaking isn’t favoring Moreno. “This is a step back in competition for Brandon. I don’t really get it.”
Another fan believes the UFC is putting an easy opponent for Moreno. “Matchmaking really said give him an easy one before the title shot.”
One fan said Johnson should get an opponent outside the top 5, given his recent UFC run. “NO!
