Mickey Gall's Time in the UFC is Done

Mickey Gall suffered his fifth straight loss last night and it's time to cut him from the UFC.
Oh Mickey you were so fine. Mickey Gall suffered his fifth straight loss at the hands of Zachary Reese, and now has a negative record of 7-8.
Having had a lot of hype when he joined the UFC after calling for his shot at just 1-0, Gall never lived up to the hype.
Having not put two wins together in 10 years, it's time for the UFC to end the Gall experiment.
Mickey Gall - Ambitions Beginnings
Having called his shot at just 1-0 whilst on an episode of Dana White- Lookin' for a Fight, Gall fought for an elusive opportunity - The chance to welcome CM Punk to the UFC.
Gall would get his shot; however, he would have to get through Mike Jackson first in a 'winner gets CM Punk' fight. The 25-year-old would make quick work of Jackson, finishing him in just 45 seconds.
Then came the UFC 203 fight with CM Punk. For Gall, he was a 2-0 novice, featured on the main card of a UFC PPV and was present on the poster. All the pressure was on CM Punk, a WWE megastar with questions as to whether he could transition into MMA.
The fight played out massively in Gall's favour. Punk, excited about his first MMA bout came out, fired a straight down the pipe, which allowed Gall to duck underneath, snatch a double leg and make quick work of the former WWE man. After just 2:14, the world knew Mickey Gall's name.
He would get a quick turnaround and face fellow prospect Sage Northcutt. The two men were at varying points in their careers. Gall was 3-0 but hadn't fought anyone of any quality. Northcutt was 7-1 and had already had four UFC outings and experienced a UFC loss. The two young fighters clashed and brought out the best in each other, but it was Gall who snatched any hype that Northcutt had with a second-round rear-naked choke victory.
The Demise
Across his next six fights, Gall would alternate wins and losses, losing to Randy Brown, Diego Sanchez and Mike Perry. The wins came against George Sullivan, Salim Touahri and Jordan Williams.
Then came his losing streak. He met Alex Morono and Mike Mallott, both of whom got the better of him. He was then released from the UFC and didn't have an MMA fight for over two years.
He returned to the big leagues with a fight against Bassil Hafez, but the time off did him no favours. He lost the fight via unanimous decision, extending his losing streak to three straight. Next came a matchup against Ramiz Brahimaj, but again, Gall couldn't get the better of his opponent and suffered another knockout loss.
His record sat at 7-7, and he was matched with Sedriques Dumas for his middleweight debut. This fight never went ahead due to him not being medically cleared, but he made a quick turnaround and faced Zachary Reese in his 185lbs debut this past weekend. He would go on to lose the fight via unanimous decision, extending his losing skid to five straight and giving him an unwanted professional record of 7-8.
It's time the UFC cut ties with Mickey Gall. The experiment worked early on, but he hasn't got what it takes anymore. No fighter should be allowed to fight in the UFC with a negative record.
