MMASucka Staff Picks: PFL Chicago (2025)

Gearing up for their third visit to Chicago, the PFL prepares to rock the Wintrust Arena with an exhilarating event, PFL Chicago, capped off by some of the best names from the middle and light heavyweight divisions. In the main event, previous Bellator standout Fabian Edwards grapples with American Top Team representative Josh Silveira. In the second to last fight of the evening, UFC alum Phil Davis aims to build on a highly successful debut when he locks horns with Sullivan Cauley.

PFL Chicago Main Event

Returning to the win column after a disappointing setback to Johnny Eblen in 2024, Edwards stamped his place in the 185-lb competition by starching one-time PFL champion Impa Kasanganay in the second round. Paired up with one of the most harder hitting athletes in the middleweight class, he will endeavor to propel his way into the finals by toppling another strong American contender in PFL Chicago.

Following a stalwart run in the 205-lb, Silveira made the decision to chase further glory, and his first promotional title, by cutting down to middleweight, which has since paid off after he picked up a splendid win over Mike Shipman back in April. Stepping up to face his biggest test to date, “Coninha” will have his work cut out for him as he goes toe-to-toe with a man who vied for a Bellator championship twice.

PFL Chicago Co-Main Event

Although he turned 40 last September, Davis has seemingly never looked better, knocking out Rob Wilkinson in the very first round in his debut. Riding a large wave of momentum, an invigorated “Mr. Wonderful” has just one objective in mind for his upcoming bout this Friday in PFL Chicago: score another knockout.

Suffering the first loss of his professional career back in 2023, Cauley has since rebounded amazingly with two back-to-back first round finishes over Hamza Salim and Alex Polizzi. Holding a distinct 11-year age advantage over the UFC veteran Davis, “Sully” has the chance to literally punch his ticket into a world championship affair by bringing down a bona fide legend of the sport.

More Bouts On the PFL Chicago Main Card

Also on the main card, a pair of former Bellator champions Sergio Pettis vs. Raufeon Stots come together to produce bantamweight fireworks. Then, fan-favorite competitor Dalton Rosta goes up against Aaron Jeffrey. Finally, once PFL belt-holder Antônio Carlos Júnior tackles hot English prospect Simeon Powell.

PFL Chicago Predictions and Staff Picks

MMASucka staff picks are composed of four of the world’s leading mixed martial arts organizations: the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the Professional Fighters League (PFL), ONE Championship (ONE FC), and Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS).

  • UFC picks will include main card fights ranging from four to six matchups per event.
  • PFL picks from main cards for pay-per-views and from tournament fights in the Regular Season, Playoffs, and Finals.
  • ONE FC and DWCS picks will feature all MMA fights from the event with a minimum of three matchups.

The individual who picks the most victorious fighters by the end of 2025 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBelts or a detailed chain from Championship Chains. Staff picks in 2023 were won by Ben Jamieson with a record of 300-148.
