DWCS 89 happens tonight. Who did our staff pick this Tuesday? Our selections are in:

The biggest proving ground in mixed martial arts, Dana White’s Contender Series, takes over television screens for DWCS 89. Taking top billing for the event, combat sports prodigy Bella Mir faces off with Alex Apodaca. In the co-main event, the heavyweights will throw down, with Guilherme Uriel squaring off with Mario Piazzon.

DWCS 89 Main Event

4-0 in MMA, Mir, daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, is widely-viewed as an up-and-coming prospect. These claims have been even more exacerbated by her sterling performances in UFC BJJ, where “Lady” has racked up three victories in a row.

Winner of three straight,  Apodaca has come into her own as a budding name in the sport. Coming off a big triumph over Devon McDonald at Fury FC 122, the Colorado fighter is set to battle her most stern opposition to date.

DWCS 89 Co-Main Event

With an amazing professional record of 10-1,  Piazzon has amassed a warpath on the Brazilian regional circuit. Seeking to earn his place in the UFC, “The Shark” will lock horns with his countryman at DWCS 89 in what looks to be an entertaining 265-lb contest.

Failing to gain a contract with the promotion last year after losing to future contender Josh Hokit. Back again to showcase the improvements he has made, “Urso” is hellbent on leaving the Meta Apex with his position on the UFC roster.

More Bouts On the DWCS 89 Card

Rounding out the main card, Sean Clancy Jr. scraps with Gary Balletto Jr. Then, Alexis Miranda tests himself against Ronald Humphrey. Also, Carlos Petruzzella faces Nick Galanti.

DWCS 89 Predictions and Staff Picks

MMASucka staff picks are composed of four of the world’s leading mixed martial arts organizations: the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the Professional Fighters League (PFL), ONE Championship (ONE FC), and Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS).

  • PFL picks from main cards for pay-per-views and from tournament fights in the Regular Season, Playoffs, and Finals.

  • ONE FC and DWCS picks will feature all MMA fights from the event with a minimum of three matchups.
