Colby Covington Claims He Would ‘Break’ Khamzat Chimaev In A Wrestling Match 

RAF is very hyped these days, with former UFC stars competing there regularly. Recently, Colby Covington defeated Belal Muhammad by technical fall, winning 10-0 at RAF 13. The win moved Covington's RAF record to 5-0, and after this result, fans have been calling for a Khamzat Chimaev vs. Covington matchup.

Chimaev also competed at RAF 13, defeating Gilbert Burns 15-4 by technical fall. ‘Borz’ is one of the big names at RAF, and a match against ‘Chaos’ would definitely generate a lot of buzz. The 38-year-old looks very confident about such a matchup against the Chechen fighter.

Colby Covington Says Khamzat Chimaev Wouldn't Keep Up With Him In A Wrestling Match

Covington is confident he could break Chimaev in a wrestling match. He believes ‘Borz’s’ cardio wouldn't be enough to handle his pace, especially if the match goes on for a long time. During a recent interview with Submission Radio, the 38-year-old said:

“I think I would break Khamzat. He doesn’t have the cardio to keep up with me. He has those quitter tendencies. I will bring those quitter tendencies out of him if that’s the next matchup.”

‘Borz’ dropped his middleweight title to Sean Strickland, and cardio was a big talking point after that fight. But that was a while ago now, and fans can expect him to have addressed that side of his game since then. He has been pushing hard for another title shot to get that belt back, and while he waits, RAF has been keeping him busy.

Colby Covington Sets One Condition For Wrestling Khamzat Chimaev

The former UFC Welterweight star has made it clear that he would only wrestle Khamzat Chimaev at 185 pounds. The 38-year-old doesn't want to give ‘Borz’ any weight advantage and has no plans to move up to 200 pounds just to make the matchup happen.

“I’m not going to accommodate him and his weight. I’m not going to go up to 200 lbs, so unless he wants to come down to 185 lbs…” during an recent interview with HelenYeeSports, Covington said. 

Fans are definitely waiting to see the former middleweight champion back in action. He has shown his readiness, but there has been no update from the UFC regarding Chimaev's next fight. Fans will just have to wait for the announcement.
