Dilano Taylor ‘Pretty Confident’ UFC Will Sign Him After Brutal Walk-Off KO

Dilano Taylor believes the UFC will sign him after a brutal walk-off KO against Nick Meck crowned him Fury FC welterweight champion.
Dilano Taylor is convinced that his latest knockout could finally earn him a UFC contract. The former PFL tournament finalist captured the Fury FC welterweight championship with a devastating walk-off finish against Nick Meck, extending his winning streak to five fights. With four of those wins coming by finish, Taylor is making a strong case for a call from the world's leading MMA promotion.
Dilano Taylor Delivers Statement KO to Win Fury FC Gold
Taylor took center stage at Fury FC 125: Fight Force last Friday at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. In a showdown for the vacant welterweight title, Taylor delivered a stunning finish in the second round with a powerful left hook that brought the fight to an abrupt end.
The win improved Taylor's professional record to 15-2, adding another championship to his impressive list of achievements. He previously competed in the PFL, where he reached the welterweight championship final in 2022, before finally losing to Sadibou Sy by unanimous decision. Notably, Taylor also scored a first-round TKO against former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald during the 2022 PFL playoffs.
During a post-fight interview, Taylor commented, "I'm pretty confident that my next fight will be in the UFC. I'm expecting out of myself two finishes in the first two fights in the UFC," he said confidently. When asked about his UFC dream fight, he said, "Give me a guy like Michael Morales. Give me somebody tough. Carlos Prates. Somebody tough."
Fury FC vice president and head matchmaker Rich Burmaster believes Taylor deserves an opportunity at the highest level.
“We packed this card full of guys ready to get the call up to the UFC,” Burmaster told MMA Mania. “Each of the title fights featured a fighter knocking on the door.”
Taylor's next steps remain uncertain, and no UFC signing has been confirmed. That said, his championship victory, five-fight winning streak, and history of finishes have strengthened his case for a promotion call-up.
