Former UFC Champion Ffels Usman Nurmagomedov Should get Title Fight Right Away

Usman Nurmagomedov recently came into the spotlight with his antics inside the octagon against Song Yadong. While the controversy has gotten the fans hyped, there is still no confirmation on whether the Dagestani will be joining Dana White’s promotion. Reflecting on how Nurmagomedov has dominated his opponents so far, Henry Cejudo has made a compelling case for Usman’s title shot. 

Henry Cejudo Wants Direct Title Shot for Usman Nurmagomedov

In a recent episode of the ‘Pound 4 Pound’ show, the former UFC champion pointed out how Nurmagomedov is utterly competitive. Even while sparring with his Dagestani brothers, the 28-year-old star’s intensity never drops. Furthermore, Cejudo pointed out that considering the manner in which the PFL star has dominated his opponents, he could be a real headache for someone like Justin Gaethje. 

Cejudo stated, “I'm really close with a lot of people that were in that camp, and Usman and Islam, they spar; it's pretty competitive. That lets you know what level this dude is at. The toughest matchup for Justin Gaethje is Usman Nurmagomedov."

Surely, the record speaks volumes about Nurmagomedov’s ability as a brutal fighter. Surprisingly, despite all the talks, Islam Makhachev does not want the undefeated fighter to get into a title bout right away. 

Islam Makhachev Details why Usman Nurmagomedov Must Wait Before Title Match 

On paper, the 28-year-old coming in and exchanging blows with Gaethje might look like an exciting prospect. But per Makhachev, his fellow Dagestani must not hurry to go for gold. The welterweight champion pointed out that Nurmagomedov needs to get the hang of how things work in the UFC before trying to fight for the belt. 

Makhachev said, “He has to feel this atmosphere. He has to fight one time... because this is like one of the big divisions in UFC, you know, and come from another division and fight for the title, I think... he has to come, feel this atmosphere, feel this all, media, everything, and fight for the title next."

At the moment, there is a lot of talk surrounding Nurmagomedov. Now, fans will be eager to know if the Dagestani will sign with the UFC in the future.
