Jon Anik recently weighed in on Din Thomas' decision to throw Gillian Robertson under the bus at UFC 330, and he didn't hold back.

Jon Anik is no fan of Din Thomas' actions at UFC 330, where the latter served as a cornerman for Gillian Robertson in her women's strawweight title fight with champion Mackenzie Dern. Unfortunately for Robertson, she was on the losing end of a unanimous decision, and Thomas, rather than provide comfort, lambasted her in front of the world.

Jon Anik on Din Thomas' conduct

UFC 330 was supposed to be the culmination of Gillian Robertson's journey to the top of the women's strawweight division. She had built up a five-fight win streak to face Mackenzie Dern for the division's belt. However, she came up short, losing via unanimous decision. To lose a title fight is a bitter experience on its own, but it was made all the worse when Din Thomas, her cornerman, used his appearance on the post-fight show on Paramount+ to not only claim that losing a title fight was Robertson's ceiling in the sport, but to also announce his retirement as a cornerman.

Robertson had just lost the biggest fight of her career, her chance at becoming a UFC champion, which every fighter dreams of, only for Thomas to take the spotlight away from her with thinly veiled criticism. Naturally, this drew the ire of many in the MMA community, among them being UFC commentator Jon Anik, who replied to a clip of Thomas' appearance.

"Wow. Awful. Not about you, bro! Wow."

Others also weighed in on Thomas throwing her under the bus in such a public manner. One of the more notable criticisms came from UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland, who is no stranger to being publicly criticized by a coach after a title fight.

At UFC 312, Strickland failed to regain the middleweight title, losing via lopsided unanimous decision in a rematch with Dricus du Plessis. After the bout, his coach Eric Nicksick expressed his frustrations with Strickland's performance, aiming harsh criticism at him that nearly led to a split between the pair. So, having seen a similar situation play out with Robertson and Thomas, Strickland spoke up in Robertson's defense, tearing Thomas apart in an expletive-laden post on X.

For his part, Thomas has since apologized to Robertson, but the backlash continues to come from all corners of the sport.
