"Lead actors" - Alexander Volkanovski outlines acting ambitions before UFC 333 fight with Movsar Evloev

Alexander Volkanovski has indicated that a future full-time venture as an actor in the entertainment industry could be on the cards for him. 

"The Great" asserted that he's currently focused on his career as a professional MMA fighter but will keep dabbling in acting until he can completely shift focus to it. 

Volkanovski is considered to be one of the very best fighters in the world, albeit some of his critics have consistently argued that he's significantly older now and is likely on his way out of the sport. Meanwhile, his supporters have scoffed at the criticism, deeming it ageist conjecture. 

The 38-year-old, on his part, has time and again underlined that he's devoted to MMA training and competition, his age notwithstanding. Volkanovski is coming off a unanimous decision victory in a rematch against Diego Lopes earlier this year, wherein he notched a successful UFC featherweight championship defense.

During an interview with TMZ Sports, Alexander Volkanovski addressed his recent appearance at the movie premiere of "Street Fighter" (2026), a live adaptation of the iconic video game known as "Street Fighter." Volkanovski played the character of "Joe" in the movie. 

Expounding upon the same, the reigning UFC featherweight titlist stated, "I don't mind it. But I'm still fighting, so I can't be doing too many of those gigs. But I can play a small role here and there until the fighting's done." 

When asked if he'd partake in more movie projects, he said, "Yeah. That's it, mate. A hundred percent. I'm going to play major roles... Lead actors in films, maybe. You know what I mean?"

Alexander Volkanovski has featured in multiple advertisements and in the notable feature film project, "Street Fighter" (2026), thus far. The Australian combatant even boasts an active and popular YouTube channel that shows his cooking and miscellaneous pursuits. 

Expounding upon his acting ambitions, Volkanovski said, "I really do enjoy it, mate. I enjoy being in front of the camera. And I can definitely see a bit of a future there. But right now, I'm focused on fighting and the cooking. So that'll keep me busy enough." 

Volkanovski further suggested that he'll "dabble" in acting here and there up until the time he's able to head into acting full-time. 

As of this time, Volkanovski is all set to put his UFC featherweight title at stake against the unbeaten Movsar Evloev at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24.
