Manoel Sousa calls out Drew Dober after winning at UFC Vegas 120

Manoel Sousa already knows who he wants to fight next. On Saturday, the Brazilian stepped into the Octagon for the second time in his UFC career and won a unanimous decision against Richie Miranda. Following his victory at UFC Vegas 120, while he was still in the cage, "Manumito" called out Drew Dober. Now, Sousa has explained why he wants to face the American fighter while assuring he is ready to step back into the Octagon this year.

Manoel Sousa Challenges Drew Dober

Sousa has gotten off to a strong start in his UFC career. The Brazilian made his promotional debut in March and, only a few months later, has already secured his second victory in the organization. Now, Manumito wants to make a third UFC appearance this year and has his eyes set on Dober. Speaking to Ag Fight, the Brazilian explained why he believes a fight against the American makes sense.

"Drew Dober would be a good fight," Sousa began. "He's a very aggressive guy, and I like fighting guys like that. He's someone who comes to strike and puts on a show in there. I think it would be a good fight with the two of us going at it for three rounds. In the first, the second, all the way until the fight is over."

In fact, Dober is widely known for his aggressive striking and forward pressure, having won 17 fights by knockout or TKO. Sousa, meanwhile, has already made an impression in the UFC with his tremendous strength and knockout power, making a matchup between the two particularly intriguing.

Manoel Sousa Willing to Accept Short-Notice Fight

Manumito is so eager to step back into the Octagon that he is willing to accept another short-notice fight. According to the Brazilian, he even plans to keep his weight down so he can be ready to accept a fight quickly if the UFC comes calling.

"Absolutely, I can fight again this year," Sousa said. "Whenever the UFC calls me, I'll be ready. I'm definitely available to take another short-notice fight. I even told my coach that I'm going to keep my weight down because I really struggled a little bit. But that's it, you have to pay the price to enjoy the taste of victory."

Sousa already proved his willingness to take a fight on short notice when he accepted the matchup against Miranda roughly one to two weeks before UFC Vegas 120 on Aug. 8.

After winning his first two UFC fights, Sousa now has his sights set on a potential matchup with Dober while remaining open to any opportunity the promotion offers him. Whether that fight comes against the veteran or another opponent, Manumito has made it clear he does not plan on waiting long for his next Octagon appearance.
