Merab Dvalishvili Cites one Team Khabib Fighter He Can't Stand

Merab Dvalishvili is currently locked in. Having lost his championship belt, the Georgian fighter is eager to get his gold back. Following his loss against Petr Yan, Umar Nurmagomedov took a brutal jab at him. Now, in a detailed discussion, Dvalishvili has elaborated why he cannot stand the Dagestani. 

Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov have Bad Blood 

Known for his comedic acts online, the former UFC Bantamweight Champion is known to have a friendly demeanor. However, it all changes in a flash when it comes to Nurmagomedov.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani in a recent interview, the 35-year-old star explained that he cannot stand Nurmagomedov. The Georgian star also clarified that he does not have any beef with the other members of Team Khabib. 

Dvalishvili said, “The only guys I don’t like from Dagestan are Umar and his sneaky manager, Rizvan, who helped Umar disrespect me on X and Threads. I think Umar is spoiled. He disrespected me. I’m hurt, I’m mad. Every time he gets a chance, he disrespects me. He even disrespected my win against Petr Yan.”

The two have fought once in the UFC. Back at UFC 311, the duo locked horns with the bantamweight gold on the line. However, despite the critics citing Nurmagomedov as the favorite, it was Dvalishvili who sealed the victory. 

Meanwhile, ‘The Machine’s recent comments about another Team Khabib fighter earned him some stern words. 

Islam Makhachev Goes off on Merab Dvalishvili

Following Islam Makhachev’s UFC 330 win, Dvalishvili expressed his frustrations. He could not wrap his head around the fact that Dana White’s promotion allowed Makhachev to celebrate with the Russian flag inside the octagon. 

Slamming the 35-year-old for his comments, Makhachev told the media, “From the very beginning he wasn't happy at all about my success in the Octagon. He's already spoken about this many times. But Petr Yan, after beating him and raising the flag in the Octagon, I think he'll beat him again now and finally make him shut up."

At the moment, the rivalry between Dvalishvili and Dagestan seems to be heating up. And fans cannot wait to see what happens next.
