Norma Dumont Slams Controversial Loss to Ailin Perez: “One of MMA’s Biggest Absurdities”

In the UFC, there have been several fights with horrible judging decisions, from Jon Jones vs. Dominick Reyes to Georges St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks. There have been plenty of examples over the years. Now, it seems another fight has been added to the infamous list after UFC Vegas 121. In the co-main event, Ailin Perez extended her winning streak and handed Norma Dumont a loss in a controversial decision. The Brazilian has now ridiculed the decision, calling it absolutely absurd.

Talking about the fight, Perez won round one with better striking and a late takedown. In round two, Dumont scored an early takedown but Perez got back up, and most of the fight stayed standing, Dumont landed a big shot late and started taunting. Subsequently, in round three, Perez pinned Dumont on the fence, hit a hard knee, then landed a big left hand at the bell.

All three judges scored it 29-28 for Perez. Dumont looked stunned by the decision, and things nearly kicked off again after Perez celebrated with her dance. Dumont didn't hold back after the decision, saying the fight was over for her and calling it one of the most absurd results she's ever seen in MMA.

“Guys the fight ended for me it was one of the buggest absurdity I’ve ever seen in MMA. For me the second was clear and the third round the Argentine did nothing. She just went into the hospital sewing Cara went straight into hospital in such a fu**ed up condition. She did nothing in the third round and she knows it. Because I was banging and talking to her the whole time she was desperate. I’m well aware that I have won the second,” Dumont said.

The two had a heated rivalry heading into their co-main event clash at UFC Vegas 121. Perez didn't hold back in her post-fight interview either, saying Dumont treated her like a “pros*itute” and asking what else she was supposed to say about it. Not only that, but she also takes a dig at the Brazilian on social media.

For anyone who missed it, things got ugly at the face-off when Perez did her usual twerk, and Dumont responded by throwing condoms at her, telling her with a smile that she needed them. As Perez bent down to pick them up, Dumont threw money at her too, telling her to take it. Referring to same, after the fight, Perez wrote, “Thanks for the condoms but I did not need to use them to F*CK you #SoSorry. Also, use those 2 dollars to buy a Plan B, I think you might need it.”

Undoubtedly, there's real heat between these two, and after such a controversial decision, it looks like they might end up meeting again down the road.
