Roberto Soldic recognizes Khaos Williams' UFC experience ahead of debut
The former KSW two-division champion knows he faces a dangerous opponent with significantly more experience in the Octagon.
Roberto Soldic is set to make his UFC debut against Khaos Williams at UFC 332 on Oct. 3. With the bout less than a month away, the Croatian fighter is aware that he will face a dangerous opponent in his first appearance with the promotion. Soldic also acknowledges that the American has considerably more experience fighting in the UFC.
Roberto Soldic Praises Khaos Williams' Skills
Williams has been competing in the UFC since 2020 and has already made 11 appearances in the promotion. The American has won seven of those fights, with five victories coming by knockout or TKO.
Soldic knows he will have to be at his best against Williams but has no complaints about the matchup. The Croatian accepted the fight when the UFC offered him Williams for his promotional debut.
"He's a dangerous striker," Soldic told MMA Junkie. "He's an American guy and a hometown guy. He has 11 fights in the UFC and is a KO puncher. I never say no to opponents. They offered him, and I accept for my UFC debut. I'm happy for this fight."
The Croatian enters the UFC with a 21-4 professional record and one no contest. Soldic has won 18 of his professional fights by knockout or TKO and will look to add another victory to his record against Williams.
Roberto Soldic Unsure How Quickly He Can Rise
With his promotional debut just around the corner, Soldic is also keeping his expectations in check when it comes to his place in the UFC's welterweight division. The Croatian believes his rise will depend on his performances and is not looking too far ahead of his first fight in the organization.
"(My rise in the division) depends on the fights," Soldic said. "I'll give my best, and we'll see. It can be quick or it can be not quick. Everything can happen in this life. It can be quick, but I have in front of me a really dangerous guy who is 10 times more experienced in the UFC than me. First Khaos, then we will see how I handle this."
For now, Soldic's focus is entirely on his UFC debut. A win over an experienced opponent such as Williams could provide the Croatian with an important first step toward establishing himself in the promotion.
