Sean Strickland became a real-life hero after a routine cliff jump nearly ended in tragedy for one of his friends.

There are so many wrong things about the current middleweight champion, Sean Strickland. He has done many controversial things, from targeting a religion to joking about someone’s nationality. However, Nina Marie Daniele has always said there is a different side to him. Behind all the controversies, she believes Strickland is a good person with a kind heart.

Now, the middleweight champion has shown he is not just a fighter inside the cage. He jumped straight into the water to save his friend’s life.

Sean Strickland Rescued Friend After Cliff Jump Nearly Ended in Tragedy

On his Instagram Stories, Strickland shared videos of himself and his friends hanging out near a cliff. During their visit, ‘Tarzan’ told his friend to jump off the cliff into the water below, even though he wasn’t sure he could pull it off. Somehow, Strickland convinced him to jump. However, seconds later, his friend started calling for help as he began to drown.

At first, the champion thought his friend was joking. But the moment he saw him go under the water, he threw his phone aside and jumped in. Strickland reached him in time and pulled him to safety, saving him from what could have been a tragic accident.

In the next Instagram Stories, his friend explained what happened. He said the freezing water took his breath away after the jump, and he went into shock. That left him struggling to stay afloat. Thanks to Strickland, he was pulled out of the water safely.

Sean Strickland Says He's Recovering From Shoulder Injury

The middleweight champion isn’t rushing back, but he’s already got his next target picked out. “Shoulder is getting solid, need a little longer,” Strickland said. “As to who I'm fighting, Chimaev keeps running his f*cking mouth. Want me to teach you how to cut weight so you can stop b*tching for a second L?” he added.

There is still no confirmed return date, but a fight with Khamzat Chimaev is clearly on his mind. At UFC 328, it looked like the rivalry and hatred between the two had finally settled. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. As the champion wants to defend his title once again against Chimaev.
