Spencer Brown Sheds Light on Dana White's Role in Fury vs. Joshua Contract Dispute

A day ago, Tyson Fury's manager, Spencer Brown, joined Ariel Helwani on his show and explained how Dana White's involvement became a point of disagreement ahead of Fury's fight with Anthony Joshua.
Dana White's role in Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua has become a bone of contention in recent times.
Spencer Brown Explains Contract Changes
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show on Tuesday, Brown explained that Dana White and the companies associated with him were not a part of Fury's original agreement.
"At first, in our contract, there was no involvement from TKO, there was no involvement from Dana White, there was no involvement from Zuffa," Brown said in a post shared by Ariel Helwani on X.
"But that got changed because we changed venues, and when we changed our contract."
Brown also revealed why his side had no problem with White promoting the fight, particularly in the United States.
"We had two different contracts. We actually took it out because we didn't see any problem in Dana White promoting the fight, especially in America. He's one of the biggest promoters in the world," Brown said.
While Fury's team had later amended its agreement to remove the restrictions that were stated in the original contract, "AJ" stuck to the original contract. This has become the main reason for the disagreement over Dana White's role in the event.
Dana White and Eddie Hearn Disagree Over Contract
Joshua's manager, Eddie Hearn, questioned Dana White's role in the event, arguing that the contractual arrangements do not allow him to take on the role he has outlined. The CEO, however, maintained that he will be involved in promoting and producing the fight.
He has said that Sela and Turki Alalshikh personally requested his involvement. The 57-year-old also pointed out that while the contract excludes TKO and Zuffa, it does not specifically prevent him from being involved in a personal capacity.
The disagreement has continued despite White's insistence that he will be part of the fight. "The Gypsy King" and "AJ" are scheduled to meet on Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, with the fight expected to stream on Netflix. Both of the heavyweights have been linked to a potential showdown for years, and the upcoming bout will finally bring them together in the ring.
