UFC Vegas 118 Weigh-Ins: Light Heavyweight Initially Exceeds Target Friday

Main card action follows at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT. All told, 12 fights will comprise the Saturday night card from Enterprise. Earlier today, the official weigh-in window for the show took place.
Although no adjustments needed to be made to the card for tomorrow evening, there was one miss, at least at first, on the scales during the Friday morning weigh-in window.
Junior Tafa Narrowly Misses Weight, Initially, Ahead of UFC Vegas 118,
Tomorrow night's main card of UFC Vegas 118 features a light heavyweight fixture matching Iwo Baraniewski (206 lbs) against Junior Tafa (206 lbs,) who was coming in on short-notice to replace Billy Elekana, who withdrew from the event due to injury. The former hit the 206-lb target for nontitle fights at light heavyweight at the first time of asking Friday.
Tafa tried again, and this time, he came in exactly at 206 lbs, preserving the perfect weigh-in window. Every other contestant for UFC Vegas 118 hit their marks this morning, including those appearing in the main event of the evening on Saturday night.
Main and Co-Main Events Locked in After UFC Vegas 118 Weigh-In Windows
Both the main event and the co-main event of UFC Vegas 118 are officially confirmed to be going ahead after the official weigh-ins this morning. In the main event of the evening tomorrow night, No. 5 contender Belal Muhammad (170 1/2 lbs,) former UFC Welterweight Champion, battles No. 11 contender Gabriel Bonfim (170 1/2 lbs.)
Both contestants weighed-in within the 171-lb nontitle maximum for welterweight bouts. This fight is a five-round attraction at five minutes per round to close the show.
The co-main event of UFC Vegas 118 happens in the middleweight division between No. 4 contender Brendan Allen (185 1/2 lbs) and Edmen Shahbazyan (186 lbs.) This is a three-round fight at five minutes per round.
