Former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon has re-signed with ONE Championship.

The 29-year-old Thai icon put pen to paper on a new deal at Jitmuangnon Gym in Thailand on July 23, his birthday, in a signing ceremony attended by Rodtang, his manager, gym owners, and ONE Championship Thailand President Jitinat Asdamongkol.

Rodtang made his ONE debut in 2018 and quickly established himself as one of the promotion's most entertaining fighters. Four consecutive wins earned him a shot against then-ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty in 2019, and he outworked the British superstar to begin the most dominant flyweight reign the division had ever seen.

He defended his crown multiple times before being stripped of the title in 2024 after failing to make weight and pass hydration for his World Title defense against Jacob Smith.

Rodtang Credits Muay Thai for Changing His Life, Vows to Keep Going

The new deal carries deep personal significance for Rodtang, who has spoken openly about how much the sport has given him and the people he loves. His commitment to continuing is absolute, with a condition attached that speaks to the warrior spirit behind his entire career.

"I don't think any other career could have given me the recognition and ability to provide for my family the way being a fighter has. I'll keep giving it my all until I no longer have the strength to fight," Rodtang said.

His 274-44 career record, including 17 wins in ONE Championship, is the statistical expression of a fighter who has never held back inside the ring. Rodtang also shared the canvas with MMA GOAT Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson in a special rules super-fight during his promotional tenure.

ONE Thailand President Promises Rodtang Will Return Bigger Than Ever

The signing press conference gave ONE Championship Thailand President Jitinat Asdamongkol the opportunity to lay out what the promotion intends to deliver with Rodtang under the new arrangement.

"Rodtang will make a proud and grand return to ONE under the management of Jitmuangnon Gym. ONE and Jitmuangnon Gym share a plan to rebuild Rodtang and bring him back bigger than ever on the ONE stage," Asdamongkol declared.

The partnership between Jitmuangnon Gym and ONE Championship gives Rodtang's return a structured foundation that his previous title reign was built on.

Rodtang Insists He Is Still the Same Fighter

Away from the contract signings and promotional announcements, Rodtang's own message about his return was straightforward and characteristic. The man who has been a fan favorite since his 2018 debut has not changed, and he wants the world to know it.

"I'm still the same old Rodtang. I enjoy playing sports, and I know when it's time to focus on Muay Thai," he explained.

Signing a new deal on his birthday adds a fitting personal touch to a professional milestone that sets the stage for the next chapter of one of ONE Championship's most celebrated careers.
