Andre Fili Pockets Deserved $100K Bonus Saturday Night

This time around in Zuhosky's Take, Drew talks about Andre Fili's win in UFC Vegas 122.
Going into UFC Vegas 122 on Saturday night, Andre Fili (26-14, 1 NC MMA, 14-13, 1 NC UFC) had been reeling from a two-fight losing streak. Prior to Fili's contest against Kai Kamaka III (18-9-1 MMA, 2-4-1 UFC,) he hadn't tasted victory since the night of Aug, 9, 2025.
That summer Saturday night, Fili emerged as the winner of his bout versus Christian Rodriguez (13-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) by way of split decision after three rounds of action. This past Friday marked 14 months since that win.
Coming into Saturday's bout, Kamaka hadn't won in the UFC since the night of April 4. Ahead of the Easter holiday, Kamaka scored a split decision against Dakota Hope (11-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in Hope's UFC promotional debut.
Andre Fili Proves Impressive in UFC Vegas 122 Saturday Night
Although the fight between Andre Fili and Kai Kamaka III was slated to be a three-round affair at five minutes per round, the scorecards wouldn't be necessary on this night. During the first round of the bout, the two fighters stalked one another while Kamaka threw a few feints in the early going.
About a minute and a half into the round, Kamaka put Fili up against the fence of the cage. While Fili and Kamaka traded some feints later in round one, the former landed a head kick as the period neared its conclusion. Not long after the command to fight was given from arbiter Chris Tognoni to begin the action in the middle round, Fili landed a tremendous kick to Kamaka's head to end the fight.
"Andre Fili! Holy smokes!," exclaimed Brendan Fitzgerald, the blow-by-blow commentator for UFC Vegas 122 this weekend. "Andre Fili flatlines Kai Kamaka III in round two, and that might be the biggest highlight in the career of Andre Fili."
Andre Fili Talks to Michael Bisping
Upon Joe Martinez announcing Andre Fili as the victor of this main card fight, he spoke with Michael Bisping for an interview. He talked about his longevity.
"I've been working so hard," Andre Fili began. "I've been in this game so long, I'm about a week away from my 13th anniversary of being a UFC fighter. I dreamed of this. I saw the UFC on my little Sony TV in my bedroom, my little 11-inch TV. I watched Ultimate Fighter and I decided I was going to do this for the rest of my life."
After saying that he has no plans to retire from the sport of MMA anytime in the near future, Fili discussed what his plans are in the aftermath of the fight.
"I want to get pizza, go home to my beautiful wife and my beautiful son," he continued. "Don't talk to me about fighting for a week."
Andre Fili Takes Home Well-Earned Bonus
Following Saturday night's event, the post-fight bonuses were handed out. Among the fighters who secured cash advances for their efforts was Andre Fili, who received $100,000 (USD) for the Performance of the Night. It's worth every penny for Fili.
In MMA, a fighter has a simple task once the cage door shuts on a given evening: Win the fight. However, just winning the fight isn't what gets a competitor notived. Sometimes, the fighter needs to secure the victory in a show-stopping manner.
Andre Fili's victory on Saturday was surely a show-stopper. With $100,000 added to his bank account, that'll buy him and his family plenty of pizza.
