Belal Muhammad has taken a jibe at fellow former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards amid speculation surrounding their next fights.

Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards have long been at odds, and it appears as though their rivalry is unlikely to end anytime soon.

Amid speculation surrounding their respective next fights, Muhammad has now taken a jibe at his British foe.

The Belal Muhammad vs. Leon Edwards UFC rivalry

Belal Muhammad has faced Leon Edwards twice inside the Octagon thus far. Their first showdown witnessed him get eye-poked by the Jamaican-English combatant, resulting in his being incapacitated and the fight ending in an NC (No Contest).

That was back in March of 2021, and Muhammad was quite vocal about his belief that he'd have gotten his hand raised if it weren't for the eye poke incident. Alternatively, Edwards asserted that he was on his way to beating the Palestinian-American regardless.

The two rivals unleashed several barbs at one another in the ensuing years, with Edwards even notching the UFC welterweight title in 2022. Meanwhile, Muhammad worked his way into the title picture and earned a rematch against him.

Their rematch saw Edwards suffer a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Muhammad in July of 2024. It helped Muhammad end Edwards' reign and become the new UFC welterweight kingpin. "Remember the Name" then dropped the belt by way of unanimous decision to Jack Della Maddalena last year.

Both Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards have had to deal with setbacks in their careers as of late. Muhammad has faced three consecutive defeats, losing on the scorecards to Jack Della Maddalena, Ian Machado Garry, and Gabriel Bonfim.

The 38-year-old was outpointed by Bonfim back in June. He later clashed against RAF cruiserweight crossover champion Colby Covington in a freestyle wrestling match in the RAF last month, losing by way of tech fall. Muhammad has, irrespective of the challenges, vowed to continue training and make a triumphant comeback.

On the other hand, Leon Edwards also happens to be on a three-fight skid. He dropped his welterweight belt in a points defeat against Muhammad. That was followed by Sean Brady besting him via submission in March of last year. Edwards's next, and latest, fight saw him get knocked out by Carlos Prates last November.

Muhammad and Edwards have traded jibes nonetheless, and many fans have suggested that they ought to settle their longstanding rivalry with a trilogy clash. As of this time, neither Muhammad's nor Edwards's respective next fight has been officially announced as of yet.

Well, Muhammad has now put forth an X post, seemingly harking back to the UFC Vegas 122 headliner -- Brendan Allen vs. Christian Leroy Duncan. Muhammad's training partner Allen submitted Edwards's training partner Duncan at the event that was held last week.

Trolling Edwards over that and more, Muhammad attached a photograph of Edwards and Duncan grappling and wrote:

"My wrestling better than Leon's. My cornering better than Leon's. My fighter's better than Leon's. Even my bald patch is better than Leon's."
