DWCS 87 Begins 10th Anniversary Season with Exciting Show!

DWCS 87  is upon us. Tuesday night, the 10th anniversary season of Dana White's Contender Series begins at the newly-renovated Meta Apex in Enterprise, NV. The venue's upgrades aren't the only new wrinkles to this season. 

Starting this year, DWCS will be seen on a new streaming platform and at a new starting time. Live coverage of DWCS 87 begins at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT. The 7 pm ET broadcast time will be in effect this and every week this season. 

As part of the UFC's media deal with Paramount Plus, the 10th anniversary season of DWCS will be streamed via the platform. For the next 10 weeks, beginning this Tuesday, MMA fans will be treated to 50 Contender Series fights, with five fights being staged per program.

MMA prospects will be competing in front of UFC CEO Dana White in the hopes of securing a UFC deal. 49 fighters were signed to the promotion in 2025 as a direct result of competing on Contender Series.

DWCS 87 Main Event: Anthony Wint vs. Matt Adams: Fury Champ Hunting for Fourth Knockout in a Row

At the top of the bill for DWCS 87 this Tuesday, the heavyweights take to the fabled Octagon for a battle between Anthony Wint (6-0 MMA,) a product of Fury Fighting Championships, and Matt Adams (6-2 MMA) of Ohio Combat League fame and formerly of the LFA. All fights this season are three rounds at five minutes per round.

Anthony Wint has yet to lose thus far in his professional MMA career. On March 15, he headlined Fury FC 117 against Jamahl Tatum (6-3 MMA,) securing a first-round knockout in just 37 seconds. In so doing, Wint captured the Fury FC Heavyweight Championship. 

The victory served as his third straight by way of knockout. Is a fourth straight knockout in the cards on Tuesday night?

Matt Adams Hoping to Become Ohio's Next Heavyweight to Graduate to UFC

Across the way, Matt Adams has gone 4-1 in his last five fights. DWCS 87 will be his third walk to the cage in 2026.

On March 21, he fought during Ohio Combat League's OCL 43 in Newport, KY, stopping Quentin Campbell (1-8 MMA) with ground and pound. Campbell's defeat to Adams was his seventh in a row.

Ohio's already home to one UFC icon, Euclid's Stipe Miocic, a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. A victory here against Anthony Wint in DWCS 87 could be the first step for Matt Adams toward eventually becoming the Buckeye State's newest UFC icon.

DWCS 87 Co-Main Event: Fabrizio Escarrega vs. Abe Alsaghir: Escarrega Hungry for Another Highlight-Reel Finish 

Immediately beforehand, lightweights take to the stage when Fabrizio Escarrega (9-1 MMA,) a veteran of Budo Sento Championships and Karate Combat, takes on undefeated Abe Alsaghir (8-0 MMA,) an alumnus of Legends of Combat. Escarrega touches down in Enterprise on the strength of a 4-1 record in his last five MMA fights.

He's won three fights in a row under MMA rules going into DWCS 87 on Tuesday night. On Feb. 26, he punched his way to a first-round standing TKO victory over Adriano Nunes (8-3-1 MMA) during BSC 33 in Mexico City during the evening's featured MMA bout. 

Escarrega finished his third opponent in a row that night. As viewers have seen throughout the years on Contender Series, just winning the fight is sometimes not enough to walk out of Meta Apex with a UFC contract. Can Escarrega score another stoppage victory this week?

Legends of Combat Champ Alsaghir Aiming for Ninth Straight Win

Meanwhile, Abe Alsaghir is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter up to now. Counting amateur competitions, this young man has won 14 fights in a row, He's fighting outside of Legends of Combat for the first time in his career during DWCS 87 this week.

On Sept. 20 of last year, he secured the Legends of Combat Lightweight Championship via first-round knockout due to strikes. While Abe Alsaghir is on an impressive run, he hasn't fought in about 10 1/2 months going into DWCS 87.

How much ring rust does he have? Only time will tell.

DWCS 87: Bilal Hasan vs. Mridul Sailkia: Hasan Seeking to Become First Indonesian in UFC

Also on DWCS 87 this Tuesday night, flyweights vie for a UFC contract when Bilal Hasan (8-0, 1 NC MMA,) a veteran of Cage Fury Fighting Championships, meets Mridul Sailkia (9-1 MMA,) Hasan boasts a perfect professional record ahead of Tuesday's bout.

Right before Christmas last December, he scored a first-round knockout to successfully defend the CFFC Flyweight Championship for the third time versus Renaldy Manse (7-1 MMA.) He was slated to fight Ben Coyle in April. Hasan's injury forced the fight's postponement. 

Prior to DWCS 87, he was interviewed by MMA Junkie and hopes to become the first competitor from Indonesia on the UFC's active roster.

"Indonesia is the fourth-most populated country in the world," Hasan said. "They really don't have anyone representing them in the combat sports world. It's just been crazy being a regional professional and winning a title."

Sailkia Looking to Secure UFC Contract at Second Time of Asking

In the other corner, Mridul Sailkia is sporting a 4-1 record in his last five outings. Back in January, he finished Maharram Ahmadov (3-2 MMA) with a head kick just 15 seconds into the opening round of action.

DWCS 87 serves as Sailkia's second chance at winning a UFC promotional contract. In the spring of 2025, he was in the Road to UFC tournament but lost to Aguilai (13-2 MMA) in the quarterfinal round.

It's not often in life that people get a second chance, but this is what Mridul Sailkia has been afforded. Will he make the most of it?

Two other bouts round out DWCS 87 this Tuesday, a featherweight fight between Tom Pagliarulo (10-2 MMA) and Ananias Mulumba (10-3 MMA, 0-1 DWCS) in the latter's second Contender Series appearance, and a middleweight contest matching Jon Kunneman (10-0 MMA) against Joe Kropschot (8-3 MMA.)
