The world of combat sports never really slows down and we have yet another fresh batch of rumours to give you. Israel Adesanya is set to take four years away from the sport of MMA and Danni McCormack calls for a UFC call following her recent Invicta FC 54 win.

All MMA rumors come from the original source and are subject to change.

Adesanya to Return in 2027?

A who’s who of combat sports stars stopped by during Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou fight week, including the former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. We know, following the upset loss to Sean Strickland and consequent loss of his belt, that he’s stepping away from competitive action for the foreseeable.

We didn’t realise quite how much time he was planning on taking away from the sport, however. Speaking to ‘The Mac Life’, Adesanya stated: “I’m not dead. I’m not retiring. I mean calm the f**k down. I’m alive.”

He also informed fans of when he’d return to action, saying: “2027. Look for the return. I’ll see you then.”

Let’s hope that he’s just trying to quash rumours and that he returns sooner than that!

Danni McCormack to the UFC?

After retaining her Invicta FC strawweight title at Invicta FC 54, Ireland’s Danni McCormack is ready for the world’s biggest promotion. She choked the previously unfinished Karolina Wojcik unconscious to make the first defence of her strawweight strap.

Sitting at 8-2 and enjoying a three fight winning run, McCormack is set to be the next Irish star to get that call.

During her post-fight interview, she went all out in her pursuit of a UFC contract: “Mick Maynard, you said you wanted a finish, so there you go. That’s the third one on my record – number three. So, let me know what you think about that one

Her compatriot, Shauna Bannon made the UFC earlier this year with a record of just 5-0 and no belt around her waist. It’s trending in the right direction for McCormack for sure.
