A Spilled Coca-Cola Almost Sparked a Bar Brawl Involving Arman Tsarukyan and Khamzat Chimaev

Arman Tsarukyan is known for throwing heavy blows inside the Octagon, but his toughest battle after UFC 331 wasn’t against an opponent; it was keeping his temper in check after a chaotic night out.

Fresh off another dominant performance in the UFC lightweight division, Tsarukyan stopped by The Ariel Helwani Show to break down his post-fight antics. When Helwani asked if it was difficult to stay composed and avoid doing something crazy during fight week, Tsarukyan joked that he was a "good boy" overall.

 However, he admitted he came dangerously close to snapping when a night out with fellow star Khamzat Chimaev took an unexpected turn.

From Soft Drinks to Soy Sauce

While hanging out at a bar with Chimaev, disaster struck Tsarukyan’s wardrobe when the middleweight accidentally spilled Coca-Cola all over Tsarukyan's favorite shirt.

"Yesterday, in the restaurant," Tsarukyan recalled when asked when he was closest to losing his cool. "I was in the bar with Khamzat, I was wearing my favorite shirt, and he spilled Coca-Cola on me."

Unfortunately for the 29-year-old Armenian contender, the wardrobe mishaps didn't end there. After leaving the bar to grab dinner at a high-end restaurant, a clumsy server made matters exponentially worse.

"And then I went to a good restaurant and the waiter said, 'Should I change your plate?' I said, 'No, I'm good,'" Tsarukyan explained. "And he tried to change the plate and spilled soy sauce on me. And I almost elbowed him."

Tsarukyan managed to hold back the impulse to deliver a vicious elbow, avoiding what could have been a wild restaurant scene. Tsarukyan proved that his self-control outside the cage is almost as impressive as his skills inside it.

Still, the takeaway for anyone hanging around elite fighters is simple: if you are sharing a table with Tsarukyan, hold onto your drinks tightly, especially when he is wearing his favorite shirt.
