Arman Tsarukyan Reveals why Choosing Favorite Between Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria is Tough

Arman Tsarukyan will stop at nothing until he gets Justin Gaethje. The Armenian star recently had one of the best fights of his career. Failing to land several takedowns in the beginning, Tsarukyan switched his technique to knock out Mauricio Ruffy in the co-main event of UFC 331.

Now, while he wants to fight for the title, the likes of Ilia Topuria have been rumored to be facing off against Paddy Pimblett. Trying to dissect the duo’s game, ‘Ahalkalakets’ failed to pick a favorite. 

Tsarukyan recently appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani. Speaking about the possible Pimblett-Topuria matchup, the Armenian termed the fight as “50-50”. He pointed out that Pimblett might be knocked out early on owing to the menacing striking from ‘El Matador.’ However, if Ilia somehow fails to do so, ‘Baddy’ might just find an opening to put the Spaniard away. 

Tsarukyan said, “Either is gonna look super good and knock out Paddy, or he’s gonna lose to him because Paddy has a good chin and good cardio.”

“Maybe Ilia is gonna be more motivated, more hungry, locked in and become way better than he was before,” he added.

Ilia Topuria had been one of the best strikers in the UFC. Unfortunately, fighting against Gaethje, the former champion suffered a brutal loss. Now that he is looking to make a comeback, ‘El Matador’ is pushing for his immediate rematch against ‘The Highlight.’ However, according to Adesanya, that would be a terrible idea.

‘The Last Stylebender’ recently warned Topuria saying, “After a beating like that, I'd advise him not to take the fight with Justin because I think getting another win before getting a title shot would be best for him."

Despite a lot of rumors surrounding the Spaniard’s comeback, the UFC has not confirmed his next opponent yet.
