Aaron Pico has opened up about his upcoming UFC 333 clash with Losene Keita, discussing the matchup and what he expects heading into the highly anticipated bout.

Pico was originally slated to face top featherweight contender Arnold Allen at UFC 333, but Allen withdrew from the bout after requiring an extended rehabilitation period following previous medical treatment. So, rather than waiting for his opponent to heal and fighting him later, the former Bellator star embraced a new challenge, remained on the UFC 333 card, and will now face Keita.
In his recent interview with MMA Junkie, Pico discussed his opponent's skills and highlighted the possible threat. He believes Keita's biggest weapon is his power and his ability to throw dangerous punches. However, the American also understands that facing different styles is part of the challenge of becoming a world champion.
Pico does not want to focus only on Keita's strengths. He believes a future world champion must be capable of adapting to any opponent's style.
"The obvious is he's a power puncher, swings really, really hard, and he's very, very good," Pico said. "He's a dangerous opponent, but part of being a world champion, you have to be able to take on guys that have a different arsenal. Sometimes you're gonna fight grapplers, and you gotta be able to adjust your style and being OK with fighting a grappler. You may fight a tricky Muay Thai guy or a boxer-heavy fighter like him.”

This will be Pico's third outing in the UFC. In his debut, he suffered a brutal spinning-elbow knockout loss in the first round at UFC 319. He then secured a unanimous decision victory over Patricio Pitbull at UFC 327, and now faces dangerous opponent Keita at UFC 333, where he will look to extend his win streak and get one step closer to the title picture.
Meanwhile, Keita also suffered a loss in his debut. He was defeated by Nathaniel Wood via split decision. In his second outing, he secured an impressive knockout victory over Muhammad Naimov in September. 'Black Panther' has an elite striking fighting style and has knocked out 11 of his opponents, which shows how dangerous he is. Currently, he holds a professional record of 17 wins and just 2 losses.
For both Pico and Keita, it will be their third fight in the promotion, and with both carrying momentum from their last win, it promises to be an exciting bout.
Ahead of the highly anticipated bout, Pico also shared what made him accept the new opponent for UFC 333.

In the interview mentioned above, Pico emphasized that his main focus is gaining experience and continuing to develop, rather than worrying about his opponent's ranking. For him, every fight is another opportunity to improve and move closer to his ultimate goal of becoming a UFC champion.
“All that matters to me is to get better, and sitting around and waiting for a ranked guy is not in my agenda. I just want to fight, get experience, and ultimately become a champion. So, whoever they have, I say yes, and I fight," Pico said
