Aliff Says It's 'My Era' Ahead of World Title Fight with Sam-A at The Inner Circle 23

Muay Thai phenom Aliff Sor Dechapan is ready to make history at the biggest moment of his career.
Aliff will challenge former two-sport, two-division ONE World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao for the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Title on Friday, July 24. It streams exclusively on live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The winner earns the right to unify the belt against reigning ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PongSuphan PK.
For Aliff, it is his first title opportunity in ONE Championship, earned through a unanimous decision performance over Ramadan Ondash in his most recent outing. He arrives on a five-bout winning streak and a 62-9 record.
Aliff Ready to Usher in a New Era at The Inner Circle 23
The prospect of facing a living Muay Thai legend has not weighed on Aliff. If anything, the stature of the opponent across from him has pushed the 22-year-old Thai-Malaysian to a higher level of preparation than any previous fight has demanded.
"Every time I enter the ring, I improve as a fighter. Now, getting to fight Sam-A has made me excited. He is so skilled, which gives me extra motivation and drives me to train even harder. Sam-A is great, but this is now my era," Aliff said.
The confidence behind that declaration is backed by a career that has been building steadily. Aliff's 62-9 overall striking record reflects a fighter who has developed the finishing instincts that championship-level Muay Thai demands, and his five-bout winning streak heading into July 24 is the strongest form of his career so far.
Muay Thai Phenom Warns Against Underestimating 42-Year-Old Legend

Aliff has not fallen into the trap that has caught many fighters who have faced Sam-A in the veteran's later years. The young challenger has studied the 42-year-old carefully and arrived at a warning for anyone tempted to assume age will be the decisive factor.
"A lot of people see this as a matchup between youth and experience, but I will never underestimate him. In the past, many fighters lost simply because they assumed his age would hold him back," he explained.
Sam-A, 42, needs no introduction. A 378-50 career striking record built across more than 30 years of professional competition, three inaugural ONE World Title reigns, and a current three-bout winning streak since returning from retirement make him one of the most accomplished opponents any young fighter could face.
Aliff Plans to Unleash His Most Aggressive Style
Beyond the respect for Sam-A's credentials, Aliff has arrived at The Inner Circle 23 with a very specific vision for how July 24 ends. The young contender has moved away from the strategic approach that carried him through recent bouts.
"I'm 80 to 90 percent confident that I'll have the opportunity to finish the fight. Previously, I fought more strategically to secure the win. But for this fight, I'm going to unleash the aggressive style that fans saw during my early days in ONE," he said.
Finishing Sam-A on the way to claiming the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship would be the most significant result of Aliff's career by a considerable distance and would immediately cement his standing as a genuine force in the division.
