Michael Dufort, a Canadian lightweight fighter, finally met up with UFC president Dana White in Edmonton.
UFC Fight Night Edmonton's weigh-ins turned out really well for the Canadian lightweight prospect Michael Dufort, as he got to meet up with UFC boss Dana White. 'The Canadian Badass' has been asking Dana and the UFC to sign him every day through his social media for the past 254 days.
Finally, in Edmonton, Dufort had the long-awaited meeting with the UFC CEO. There is no end to Dufort's chase yet, but at the very least he has Dana's attention now. The Canadian posted a clip of their brief meeting on his Instagram:
Michael Dufort Might Get His UFC Shot After Meeting Dana White
Michael Dufort is 32 and fights out of Quebec, Canada. The man holds a pro MMA record of 18-6, with 17 finishes. In Tapology's regional rankings, Michael is ranked pound-for-pound No. 1 in Canada and No. 4 in North America.
Lately, Dufort's been fighting in Canadian promotion Samourai MMA, where he is the reigning lightweight champion. Right now, he is on a five-fight win streak, all title fights and all finishes.
Before going on this impressive run, Michael has also competed in PFL, Cage Titans, and TKO.
Last month, Dufort defended his belt for the 4th time with a spectacular hammerlock. The video of this rare submission has gone viral on the internet.

Michael Dufort Wants To Fight Renato Moicano For His UFC Debut
After his latest victory, I had a chance to talk with 'The Canadian Badass' on behalf of Combat Sports Fan Page. When asked who he would like to welcome him in the UFC's lightweight division, he was pretty specific:
"It's funny, but I would love to, and I know it's not going to happen, but I would like to fight Moicano," Michael Dufort began. "I think he's a perfect style for me. Or Benoit Saint Denis. I'd really like to fight Benoit Saint Denis, too."
Dufort has also expressed his interest in directly making his UFC debut or first showcasing his skills on Dana White Contender Series.
DWCS' 2026 season concluded this past week, so now, if Dufort gets his opportunity anytime soon, then it's going to be in the UFC. Seeing Michael Dufort's conversation with Dana White in Edmonton, we just might see this exciting lightweight step into the octagon sometime soon.
