Jasmine Jasudavicius claims she was fined $10,000 at UFC Winnipeg after officials mistook chewing gum for a nicotine pouch.

Jasmine Jasudavicius recently shared a bizarre story from her time at UFC Winnipeg, where she ended up facing a hefty $10,000 fine over a piece of chewing gum. According to the UFC flyweight, officials mistakenly believed she had a nicotine pouch in her mouth during the fight.

In a clip posted by Full Send MMA on Wednesday, the Canadian fighter recounted her efforts to convince the athletic commission that the substance in her mouth was simply gum. Her experience has sparked quite a bit of attention to an unexpected issue that allegedly ended up costing her a pretty penny.

Jasudavicius Says Officials Mistook Gum for a Nicotine Pouch

Jasudavicius did not hold back when recounting the incident, insisting that the evidence was right there for officials to see.

“I got fined because everyone thought I had a dip in,” Jasudavicius said. “I said, check the mat; it’s a piece of gum; there’s your evidence.”

Her explanation implies that the gum had been tossed onto the mat at a spot where she believed officials could verify her account/ However, it remains unclear from the available statement which specific commission rule was referenced or how the supposed fine was officially determined.

The $10,000 amount is particularly eye-catching, given that Jasudavicius insists that the incident involved a regular piece of gum rather than a banned nicotine product.

UFC Winnipeg Incident Raises Questions About the Fine

Jasudavicius' account has raised eyebrows about how the situation was handled and whether the alleged penalty could be contested. However, at this stage, her statements alone don't establish the commission's official reasoning or confirm if the fine has been finalized.

The incident also sheds light on how rules governing substances used by fighters during competition can become a source of controversy, especially when officials suspect a violation. Without an official explanation from the athletic commission, the exact details surrounding the alleged penalty remain uncertain.

For Jasudavicius, the frustration appears to stem from the belief that a piece of gum was misidentified as something more serious. Her pointed suggestion to “check the mat” really drives home that frustration, turning a bizarre claim into a talking point among MMA fans.

An official response from the commission would help clarify why the penalty was issued and whether any further action is possible.
