Cris Cyborg Offers to Face Amanda Nunes at UFC 332

Former UFC featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg has offered to step back into the UFC to save the UFC 332 card on one condition... her opponent is Amanda Nunes.

The former foes first fought in 2018 at UFC 232 where Nunes scored an emphatic knockout. We broke that fight down in a recent article that can be found here.

The assumption was that, following her most recent fight for the PFL, Cris Cyborg would be hanging up the gloves. Her dominant win at PFL Tampa saw her outpoint Ketlen Vieira across 25 minutes in a non-title fight as her opponent missed weight.

Nunes has been out of action since hangning up the gloves in 2023 after years of dominance. The one blemish on her record since 2014 she avenged in destructive fashion. She was scheduled to return to MMA action at UFC 324, however, her opponent on the night, Kayla Harrison, suffered an injry and had to withdraw from the fight.

UFC 332 Debarcle 

UFC 332 is set to take place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The event is scheduled for October 3rd, however, no main event has been announced. There are currently no fights on the card that could reasonably be promoted to the main event.

Rumours circulated that Valentina Shevchenko would face off with Natalia Silva for the flyweight title, however, this has since been refuted due to an injury to the champion.

Cyborg has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to pose the question as to whether her former foe, Amanda Nunes would be interested in a fight. After a post that stated that the flyweight belt wouldn't be on the line, Cyborg replied, taggin Nunes and saying "tired of waiting for @KaylaH? Feel like saving an @UFC event?".
