Dana White addresses potential UFC events at the iconic Mount Rushmore and Sturgis after UFC Freedom 250
UFC head honcho Dana White has dropped a stunning hint about more special fight cards at iconic locations, including Mount Rushmore.
Dana White recently set MMA fans abuzz when he suggested that a potential big UFC card, along the lines of UFC Freedom 250, could be on the horizon.
The UFC CEO and president has now been questioned about the same, to which he put forth a rather intriguing reaction, albeit without divulging too much.
Dana White on the possibility of UFC events at Mount Rushmore and Sturgis
In a recent conversation with Barstool Sports' Jack Mac on the Spinnin Backfist MMA Show, Dana White discussed multiple topics, including the speculation surrounding which iconic venue he has in mind for the UFC in the near future.
It's noteworthy that the UFC, which is regarded as the world's premier MMA organization, conducted the first major professional combat sports event at the White House in Washington earlier this year.
The UFC Freedom 250 event was held on the significant American socio-political landmark's South Lawn on June 14, with the UFC lightweight title unification match between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje headlining it. Moreover, Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira collided for the interim UFC heavyweight belt in the UFC White House card's co-headlining match.
In response to Mac questioning White about whether the next iconic venue he's teased is within the United States of America or beyond, White stated, "It's in America."
Furthermore, Mac implied he thinks that the iconic venue White was referring to is Mount Rushmore, the national memorial site comprising mammoth carvings of former U.S. presidents. In response, the UFC boss smiled. Needless to say, a number of fight fans soon chimed in and asserted that White's act of neither confirming nor denying the Mount Rushmore rumor is indicative that it could be on the cards.
White then mentioned another iconic area in the U.S., Sturgis, to be specific. He said, "Well, what would make sense is that -- I actually love that area. You know I go to Sturgis as many times as I can, when it's happening. I couldn't go this year. But I do love that. I love that town."
Nevertheless, White clarified that he wasn't officially announcing Sturgis as the iconic venue he previously addressed for a future UFC event, but was simply acknowledging its allure. He said, "I'm not saying that's it. I'm just saying that... Yeah."
Interestingly, the BKFC -- which is a bare-knuckle boxing organization rather than an MMA organization like the UFC -- has made it a tradition to organize notable events in Sturgis, South Dakota, during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally every August.
Incidentally, Mount Rushmore, being around 50 miles from Sturgis, is also in South Dakota.

Dana White had teased making an "impossible" event possible, doubling down after past remarks
Speaking of Dana White's hints at the UFC possibly organizing another event at a historic and/or socio-culturally important venue soon, the UFC head honcho recently remarked on it during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
White praised the UFC Head of Production Craig Borsari, even jestingly noting that Borsari was getting too confident after the White House card's success and is attempting another event of that ilk at a different venue.
Similarly, during an interview with TMZ Sports, White said, "He (Craig Borsari) is going to go do some recon work on the impossible event."
