DWCS 93 Weigh-Ins: Perfect Window on Scales on Last Monday of Summer!
DWCS 93's official weigh-in window took place earlier Monday. We bring you up to speed on what happened on the scales:
DWCS 93, week seven of the 10th anniversary season of Dana White's Contender Series, is almost here. Tuesday night, right as the autumnal equinox takes place in the Northern Hemisphere, Meta Apex holds another night of exciting midweek MMA action. Although the summer season ends tomorrow, the action in the Octagon is still red hot.
Live coverage of the Tuesday night MMA event begins at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT. Inside the United States, DWCS 93 can be seen gavel-to-gavel on Paramount Plus.
As usual, five fights will be held inside the fabled Octagon from the Apex as 10 more prospects attempt to impress UFC CEO Dana White to earn a contract and join the 28 alumni from this year's DWCS class as members of the company's roster. Earlier today, the fighters booked to appear on DWCS 93 had the battle with the scale.
DWCS 93 Main Event Cleared for Takeoff After Weigh-Ins
All 10 fighters booked to appear tomorrow evening successfully made weight ahead of the show. This includes the competitors meeting in the main event of the evening.
Bellator MMA alumnus Norbert Novenyi Jr. (185 1/2 lbs) weighed-in half of a pound under the middleweight nontitle target for his contest against Theo Haig (184 lbs,) who will be making his second appearance on the show in as many seasons. All DWCS fights are three rounds at five minutes per round.
DWCS 93 Co-Main Event Also Given Green Light
Immediately beforehand, the DWCS 93 co-main event takes place in the welterweight division. Jaden Ortega (170 1/2 lbs) was under the 171-lb target for the contest against Alvi Dasuyev (170 lbs,) who came in on championship weight. This is Ortega's first fight after turning 24 years of age, as his birthday was last Friday.
