EFC 139 is beginning to take shape, with three key matchups confirmed for the Nov. 5th event in Johannesburg.

EFC 139 is beginning to take shape, with three key matchups confirmed for the Nov. 5 event in Johannesburg. The promotion has now confirmed the three matches that will serve as feature bouts on the night, seemingly opting out of having a title fight.

Three Key Bouts Added to EFC 139 Fight Card

The EFC 139 main event will see submission specialist Coenie 'The Prophecy' Lamprecht take on Namibia's Veja Hinda. Lamprecht's submission game has quickly established him as one of South Africa's promising young prospects. Hinda will look to keep his momentum going with a third victory in his undefeated EFC career at the expense of his opponent.

The card will also feature a battle between two undefeated South African lightweights as Nasiphi 'The Honey Badger' Vellem faces Grant 'Friction' Farrow. Vellem enters the bout with a 3-0-1 record, while Farrow has a 2-0 record of his own. This bout could also provide another top lightweight contender.

Rounding out the three confirmed match-ups is Sisa Jungula and Micky 'The Mouse' Cloete's flyweight bout. Jungula will be looking to bounce back from a two-fight losing skid with this fight. This will also mark Cloete's first bout in two years, and he will be hoping to utilise his submission skills to make it quite the comeback.

EFC 139 Becomes First 2026 Card Without Title Fight

With the top three match-ups now confirmed by the promotion, EFC 139 is set to become the first EFC card of 2026 to not feature a title fight. With the previous eight cards featuring championship gold on the line, this November card will be something of an outlier.

With several divisions continuing to develop, the absence of a championship on the EFC 139 card gives it a different feel from the cards that have preceded it this year. For now, the focus of EFC 139 will be on the promotion's next generation of talent rather than a championship fight.
