Former UFC Heavyweight Chris Barnett Makes Power Slap Debut

It’s not every day that one sees a former UFC fighter on the Power Slap platform. Therefore, it was only natural for the fans to be stunned when they saw their favourite former UFC fighter slapping Jake Logan.
Former UFC Heavyweight Rocks Power Slap Platform with Win
Former UFC heavyweight Chris Barnett just made his promotional debut against Jake Logan at Power Slap 23 on Sept. 17. It’s true that UFC fans have always frowned upon this sideshow of Dana White. But the general opinion of this debut remains that it was entertaining.
Barnett has had a long and rough run in combat sports. He debuted in the UFC Octagon in 2021, against Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 188. During his time in the UFC, he had a 2-4 record and a Performance of the Night knockout win against Gian Villante. Eventually, Barnett left the promotion in 2025 after suffering back-to-back defeats to Hamdy Abdelwahab and Kennedy Nzechukwu.
Unlike in the UFC, his debut in power-slap was a win. Although Logan won the toss and proceeded to strike first, the former MMA fighter absorbed it without trouble. During Barnett’s first attempt, Logan flinched, giving the former another opportunity to strike.
In the second round, Barnett swallowed another slap before unleashing one of his best shots of the match, but even that wasn’t enough to tame Jake Logan. Eventually, the match proceeded to the third round, where “The Beast Boy” seemed to be enjoying himself before and after delivering his final shot. He was then declared the winner by unanimous decision.
Former UFC Heavyweight’s Journey to Power Slap Platform
Chris Barnett is no stranger to the Combat Sports Entertainment business. However, Power Slap is a new territory, even for him. Although many fans are looking at this journey from MMA to slap fighting as a tragedy, the criticism is not directed towards the fighter himself.
However, The Huggy Bear ended up apologising for failing to knock Jake Logan out and admitted that he needs to work on slapping harder, perhaps because during his career in MMA, he had a record of 18 knockouts, including a 61-second knockout against Johnathan Miller at Karate Combat 58. The 40-year-old fan favourite promised he would deliver a finish in his next appearance, confirming his stay with Power Slap.
