UFC 325 is set to go down in Sydney, Australia this Saturday, making it the promotion’s eighth expedition to the city. In the UFC 325 main event, the fighting pride of the country, Alexander Volkanovski, defends his featherweight title against the surging Diego Lopes in a much-anticipated rematch.

In the penultimate matchup of the card, New Zealand-based striking extraordinaire Dan Hooker comes to blows with French star Benoît Saint Denis. UFC 325 also offers a main card packed with some of the finest competitors from The Land Down Under, including Tai Tuivasa, Jamie Mullarkey and Quillan Salkilld. 

Now, here are some interesting pre-event tidbits about the main card fighters competing at UFC 325:

UFC 325: Quillan Salkilld vs. Jamie Mullarkey

Quillan Salkilld

Salkilld was originally slated to combat Rongzhu in the opening bout of the UFC 325 main card, however, the Chinese athlete pulled out of the pairing, with Mullarkey stepping in. His appearance at UFC 325 marks the first time he has competed on home soil since UFC 312 last February.

Seven of his 10 wins as a professional have come inside the distance, five of which ending in the first round.

Jamie Mullarkey

Entering UFC 325, Mullarkey has been in the UFC since 2019, making his debut in the company back at UFC 243. His inclusion at UFC 325 marks the second time in a row that he has fought in Australia, last defending his turf against Rolando Bedoya, whom he defeated via unanimous decision. 

He has gone 2-3 in his last five contests.

UFC 325: Tai Tuivasa vs. Tallison Teixeira  

Tai Tuivasa

Tuivasa has lost his last five trips to the Octagon, with his current losing streak dating back to September 2022. He has not won a fight since his starching of Derrick Lewis when he competed at UFC 271. 

He holds a nearly 100 percent finish rate, with all but one of his professional scraps ending by way of finish. He possesses 13 victories stemming from knockout.

Tallison Teixeira

Teixeira stands as the tallest fighter currently on the UFC roster at 6-foot-8. All of his eight wins as a professional have ended in the first round since making his debut back in late 2021. 

He is 1-1 in the organization, winning his freshman appearance against Justin Tafa before losing to Derrick Lewis his last time out by stoppage.

UFC 325: Rafael Fiziev vs. Maurício Ruffy

All of Fiziev’s losses as a professional have come inside the UFC, notably falling twice to current interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje. He is a previous Muay Thai world champion, collecting outstanding accolades such as becoming the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Kyrgyzstan Muay Thai Champion and the 2011 Kazakhstan National Champion 

UFC 325’s Rafael Fiziev trains out of both Tiger Muay Thai and Kill Cliff FC. He is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Maurício Ruffy

Ruffy is coming off of the first setback of his UFC tenure after losing to Benoît Saint Denis by second round submission at UFC Fight Night 258, making it his first loss since 2019. 11 of his 12 victories have occurred due to knockout. 

He boasts two Performance of the Night bonuses, achieving these feats against Jamie Mullarkey and King Green.

UFC 325: Dan Hooker vs. Benoît Saint Denis

Dan Hooker

Hooker trains at City Kickboxing, which touts major international talent like Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. He has acquired six post-fight awards throughout his run in the UFC.

He has only competed once a year since 2023.

Benoît Saint Denis

Saint Denis is currently in the midst of a three-bout win streak after fighting three times in 2025. UFC 325 is his first contest that will take place in Australia.

He has stopped all of his opposition in his 16 victories as a professional. 

UFC 325: Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes 

Alexander Volkanovski

Volkanovski is the second man to ever become a two-time undisputed UFC featherweight champion. He had previously reigned over the division from 2019-2024, notching five title defenses. He is the first competitor from Australia to capture a UFC championship 

He holds the promotional record for most leg kicks landed in a single fight at 75, earning this accolade during his first encounter with Max Holloway.  

Diego Lopes

Lopes’ appearance at UFC 325 will be the first time he has fought outside the United States since his last scrap before joining the UFC back in late 2022. Four of his eight wins in the organization have ended by way of stoppage, including three by knockout and one by submission 

He holds notable victories over Dan Ige, Brian Ortega and Jean Silva
