Movsar Evloev Admits He’s a Big Alexander Volkanovski Fan Ahead of UFC 333

Ahead of UFC 333, Evloev said he does not expect many fans to support him because Alexander Volkanovski is already a very popular fighter. The Russian fighter also admitted that he is a fan of Volk. He said that if they were not fighting each other, he would probably be supporting ‘The Great’ too. However, this time, he wants to beat him and become the champion.

In his words, “I wasn’t expecting much love toward me considering Volk is already so established, such a fan favourite. Honestly, I’m a fan of his too, I guess if I wasn’t the one fighting him, I’d be rooting for him too.”

The Australian legend is really wholesome outside the cage. To give an example, after being called ‘old guy,' he pulled up at the UFC presser with an old man look. Now he does cooking videos on his YouTube channel. And over the years, he has become a fighter who is hard for fans to dislike.

Alexander Volkanovski Feels Bad For Fans Booing Movsar Evloev

Volkanovski admitted it doesn't sit right with him when fans boo his opponents. He's been on the receiving end of that himself and says it never bothered him one bit. This time around, though, he's expecting Evloev to get serious love from the crowd since the fight's going down on his home turf.

“I always feel bad when people boo my opponents. But it's funny because I used to get booed and I didn't care. But he has a fight at home pretty much he is going to have a home crowd,” Volk stated.

As for the champion's record, the only two men to beat him in the last 13 years are Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev. A win over Evloev would make Volkanovski the first man to hand him a loss; the Russian's still unbeaten.
