Raoni Barcelos not worried about age gap with Raul Rosas Jr.

Raoni Barcelos is not concerned about the 18-year age difference between him and Raul Rosas Jr. At 39 years old, the Brazilian veteran will face the 21-year-old prospect in the UFC Vegas 121 main event on Saturday. Barcelos is confident that having young training partners has prepared him for this challenge.

Barcelos has won his last five fights and will look to extend his winning streak against one of the youngest fighters in the UFC.

Raoni Barcelos Trains With Fighters Raul Rosas Jr.'s Age

Barcelos believes Rosas Jr.'s age does not give him an advantage. The Brazilian, who regularly trains with fighters from the same generation, feels ready to take on the young prospect. The veteran also sees the matchup as an opportunity to test himself against one of the most "hyped" fighters in the bantamweight division.

"His being young, being 21 years old, doesn't bother me much," Barcelos told Ag Fight. "My training partners are all around his age. So they push me a lot, and I also end up pushing them more and more. I'm ready and prepared, especially for a hyped athlete like Raul."

Raoni Barcelos Calls Himself Raul Rosas Jr.'s First Real Test

With over a decade in professional MMA, Barcelos has already gone through many situations in his career. The Brazilian has considerably more experience than his opponent and believes he will be Rosas Jr.'s first challenge in the promotion.

"Raul still has a lot to go through in the organization, I've already been through a lot," Barcelos said. "I think I'm his first test. Not to brag or anything, but the first guy he's going to face who is complete, with tough wrestling and jiu-jitsu, is me."

Barcelos and Rosas Jr. are expected to headline UFC Vegas 121 on Sept. 26 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
