Sean O’Malley made a surprising admission, saying that he has not used social media for the last one and a half years.

Sean O’Malley recently had a rough patch when he went from being undefeated in the UFC to losing two fights in a stretch. Thankfully, as the fighter is trying to claw his way back to the top, things are looking quite rosy again. However, the former UFC champion recently dropped an update that came as quite a surprise. ‘Suga’ claimed that he has refrained from using social media for years.

Sean O’Malley Quit Social Media Long Ago

For the close followers of O’Malley, his social media presence is well known. Be it reacting to fights or putting up funny videos online, ‘Suga’ was always believed to have been an active social media user. Surprisingly, in his latest statement, the UFC star pointed out that he had quit his social channels almost 18 months ago.

‘Suga’ said, “I never ever, ever got on social media and then got off and felt better. And it was something I was just aware of. Every time I was like, | just didn't feel...Like, I'd be sitting outside just surfing nothing. Like, nothing really... Nothing important was coming from those surf sessions."

Surely, such a confession from O’Malley came as a big surprise. But there’s more.

Sean O’Malley Details the Ill-Effects of Social Media

Continuing his admission about not using social media, ‘Suga’ opened up about having anxiety issues from his practice of scrolling through. He revealed that mindlessly consuming content on various platforms did him little good.

Elaborating on the same, O’Malley said, “There should be no reason I have this, like, little anxiety. There's no reason. And I was associating that to just scrolling, just being on social media and looking at pointless sh*t.”

He also added, “But sometimes I'm like, God, dude, I bet that just feels good. It makes you be able to enjoy what you have more than just be f*cking anxious all the time on that thing."

Surely, with such a surprising update coming in, fans will wait to see if the UFC star will follow up his recent statement with more details.
