"Sugar" Sean O'Malley trolls rivals after Song Yadong's brutal KO of Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC Shanghai

"Sugar" Sean O'Malley has put forth his reaction to Song Yadong's incredible stoppage win against Umar Nurmagomedov. Incidentally, O'Malley happens to be the last person to have beaten Yadong. 

The American, on his part, chose to adopt a lighthearted approach to seeing his former opponent beat the fearsome Nurmagomedov. O'Malley appeared to use the opportunity not only to troll his bantamweight rivals, but also to remind the viewers that he himself could be knocking on the door of another title shot soon. 

"Sugar" Sean O'Malley reacts to UFC Shanghai main event between Song Yadong and Umar Nurmagomedov

Song Yadong started off his year with a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley. The Chinese fighter followed that up with a submission victory against Deiveson Figueiredo, a former UFC flyweight champion who's been a fierce competitor at bantamweight as well. 

Yadong's next, and most recent, fight witnessed him punch his way to a stunning second-round knockout victory against Umar Nurmagomedov, the younger cousin of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov and the elder brother of PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov. 

Taking to social media, Sean O'Malley posted footage of his reaction to Yadong vs. Nurmagomedov, which headlined UFC Shanghai in Yadong's native China on August 29. 

Alluding to the controversial post-fight sequence, wherein Usman Nurmagomedov seemed to nearly connect with an elbow strike on Yadong, O'Malley stated, "Bro, who is in Umar's corner who ran in like that? Almost hit him (Song Yadong) with a spinning elbow." 

Moreover, in what looked to be an attempt to troll his rivals, he praised himself by making an allusion to his own win over Yadong. O'Malley said, "Bro, just how good is Sean O'Malley?" He laughed and added, "Jokes. This is not about me." 

O'Malley noted, "What a year for Song -- fights the "Sugar Show" in January, loses. Comes back, submits Deiveson Figueiredo, then knocks out Umar Nurmagomedov." 

Jestingly harking back to the win he holds over Yadong, O'Malley said, "Look at that cut above his (Song Yadong's) eye, too. Is that where I kneed him?" He then appeared to jestingly say, "Not about me. This is not about me, guys. Stop it."

"Sugar" Sean O'Malley foresees himself recapturing UFC bantamweight gold; feels Song Yadong gets title shot with Merab Dvalishvili win at UFC 333

Presently, Sean O'Malley is coming off a TKO win against Aiemann Zahabi at UFC Freedom 250 in June. Also, here in August, Song Yadong has demanded a UFC bantamweight title shot after becoming the first fighter to finish the extraordinarily durable Umar Nurmagomedov. 

A noteworthy point O'Malley made in his reaction video is that Yadong would be a tough stylistic matchup for Merab Dvalishvili, a person he (O'Malley) has lost to twice. 

Dvalishvili faces reigning UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan for the title in their trilogy fight at UFC 333 on October 24. O'Malley implied that, since he's beaten Petr Yan in the past, a win for the Russian at UFC 333 would bag him a rematch and title shot against Yan. 

Furthermore, O'Malley acknowledged that if Dvalishvili wins at UFC 333, he wouldn't get a title shot, but Yadong would. All things considered, "Sugar" has vowed to reclaim the UFC bantamweight belt sooner rather than later.
