Him and his coach Mike Dolce insisted that the weight cut this time around was not a problem for him and that the scale itself was botched. Even with the weight issue, Alves came into UFC 138 and absolutely dominated UFC newcomer Papy Abedi, finishing with a rear naked choke in the first round.
