Tony Ferguson gets new opponent for Misfits Boxing title defense
The former UFC interim champion will now face former Olympic wrestler Mahmoud Fawzy Sebie after Kenzo Biyong withdrew from the fight.
Tony Ferguson will have a new opponent for his Misfits Boxing title defense. The former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion was originally scheduled to face Kenzo Biyong on Saturday in Miami, but Biyong was forced to withdraw just four days before the event due to travel complications.
Ferguson will defend the Misfits middleweight title against Mahmoud Fawzy Sebie, a former Egyptian Olympic wrestler.
Mahmoud Fawzy Sebie Replaces Kenzo Biyong
Ferguson captured the Misfits middleweight title in December 2025 after defeating Warren Spencer by unanimous decision. The victory came after the former UFC contender won the interim title with a stoppage victory over Salt Papi at Misfits 22 in August of the same year.
Away from MMA since August 2024, when he suffered a submission loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC on ABC 7, the 42-year-old has also been busy competing in freestyle wrestling. Earlier this year, Ferguson stepped onto the mats at RAF 10 in June and lost to Arman Tsarukyan by technical fall. Ferguson will now return to the boxing ring looking to defend his title against Sebie at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.
Sebie, meanwhile, brings a background in wrestling to the matchup. The Egyptian represented his country in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before retiring from the sport and turning his attention to MMA. He has also competed in RAF, losing to Zahid Valencia by technical fall at RAF 6 in February.
Ferguson will look to retain his Misfits middleweight title when he faces Sebie on Saturday.
