UFC Freedom 250: How to Watch and Full Fight Card

UFC Freedom 250 aims to deliver one of the most monumental sporting events in history this Sunday, with lightweight champion and promotional superstar Ilia Topuria seeking to defend his strap for the first time against current interim king Justin Gaethje. In the co-main event, Brazilian phenom and former light heavyweight gold standard Alex Pereira moves up to heavyweight to challenge for the interim belt opposite perennial contender Ciryl Gane.

Recording a mind-blowing knockout win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 last year to earn the 155-lb throne, Topuria has risen to become a bonafide household name, becoming the only undefeated fighter to claim double-champion status in the UFC. Gearing up for a fantastic return on the South Lawn of the White House, “El Matador” can raise his stock even further with another highlight-reel finish over his American challenger.      

Proving that he still belongs amongst the best lightweights on the planet back in January, Gaethje logged a splendid performance over the young and hungry Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324, adding his name to the record books as the only man to capture interim gold twice in his division. Failing to get his hands on the undisputed championship on two previous occasions, “The Highlight” is eager to prove the old saying “third time’s the charm” right with a historical upset over Topuria.

For most professional combatants nearing 40-years old, the idea of competing for a world title up a weight category would seem very out of the ordinary. For Pereira, who is coming off a legacy-defining title saga at 205-lb, that idea is all too real, as he embarks on a warpath toward the interim heavyweight strap. Possessing one of the most dangerous striking skillsets ever seen in the Octagon, “Poatan” is ready to make history at the White House this weekend.   

Coming off a lackluster championship bout against Tom Aspinall last October at UFC 321, which saw the match end in a disappointing no contest, Gane returns to action for 265-lb gold once more. With the sting of the Aspinall contest still fresh on his mind, “Bon Gamin” wants nothing more to set up a fateful rematch, beginning with a sound dismantling of promotional star Pereira.
