Who is Salahdine Parnasse? This is the question that many ‘casual’ MMA fans are asking following the announcement of the entire MVP MMA card on May 16th. Hardcore fans of MMA, specifically those who follow European promotion, KSW, are particularly excited to see Parnasse on the world stage. He takes on the respected American, Kenneth Cross.

Let’s take a look at the Frenchman, Salahdine Parnasse and what he brings to the Netflix card in May.

Who is Salahdine Parnasse?

Career Highlights

Salahdie Parnasse is a crowd favourite in KSW and is a guaranteed ticket seller across Europe. The Frenchman has headlined nine KSW events dating back to 2019 when he was just 22. On that occasion, riding an 11-fight winning run, the Frenchman captured the interim featherweight title with a second-round finish. After just one title defence, Parnasse would lose his belt in a unification bout due to a freak finish. He was caught and knocked out with an attempted right hook, where his opponent caught him with his bicep.

He would rematch Daniel Torres, the man who knocked him out, and went five rounds in an effort to capture the undisputed belt once again, this time successfully.

He secured the interim lightweight title with a fourth-round submission over Sebastian Rajewski and instantly looked for greatness. Just four months later, he would move up 15lbs in pursuit of the welterweight title. Although he would come up short, he went five rounds at welterweight in an impressive showing.

He would pursue a run at lightweight, first unifying the belt before making three defences. He’s enjoying a four-fight winning run, all of which have come via finish. Sprinkled in along that run was a boxing match against Franck Petitjean, who held a record of 25-7 at the time, where the MMA star scored a second-round knockout.

22 wins, 14 finishes and at just 28, he has the world at his feet.

MVP MMA

It was reported that Salahdine Parnasse rejected the UFC in 2024 due to financial issues; however, what is important is that he will now compete for MVP MMA.

He hasn’t been given an easy fight. Kenneth Cross is 17-4 with 13 finishes. He had a shot at the UFC himself; however, after winning on the Contender Series, he wasn’t offered a contract by Dana White. His most recent outing saw him capture the Tuff-N-Uff lightweight title via a five-round decision. With that being said, he hasn’t faced the level of competition that Salahdine Parnasse has, hasn’t competed on the same level and, in what promises to be a huge card, hasn’t fought in front of a crowd as big as Parnasse.

The card is headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano clashing across five, five-minute rounds at featherweight. The co-main event will see the return of Francis Ngannou, who meets Philipe Lins. The featured bout will see UFC legend, Nate Diaz, meet fan favourite and the all-action, Mike Perry, across five rounds.

With that being said, all eyes will be on Salahdine Parnasse, who could steal the show.
