UFC 316 Results: Newark Card Features Two Thrilling Title Fights

UFC 316 is here! Tonight, Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center is the destination for the latest spot on Dana White’s promotion’s world tour for 2025. Live coverage of tonight’s event begins in just a few short hours with the early prelims at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT.

Inside the United States, this phase of the card is seen on ESPN+, in addition to the traditional worldwide stream on UFC Fight Pass. Late prelims immediately follow on ESPN (linear television) and ESPN+ at just past 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT.

Your schedule tonight will wrap up with the five-fight main card at 10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT via ESPN+ pay-per-view. In Canada, tonight’s action is seen on Sportsnet. After yesterday’s weigh-in window, tonight’s card features a 13-fight slate.

UFC 316 Main Event: UFC Bantamweight Championship: [C] Merab Dvalishvili vs. No. 1 Contender Sean O’Malley

At the top of the bill later on tonight is a championship doubleheader. It’ll be capped off with a battle for the UFC Bantamweight Championship in the main event of the evening. Current UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili (19-2 MMA, 12-2 UFC) defends the belt for the second time in a rematch against No. 1 contender Sean O’Malley (18-2, 1 NC MMA, 10-2, 1 NC UFC.)

This is a five-round fight at five minutes per round to close out the show.

UFC 316 Co-Main Event: UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship: [C] Julianna Pena vs. No. 2 Contender Kayla Harrison

Immediately prior, the co-main event of the evening sees championship action at women’s bantamweight. Titleholder Julianna Pena (11-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) meets up with No. 2 contender Kayla Harrison (18-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC.) The UFC 316 co-main event is also five rounds at five minutes per round.

Also tonight on the UFC 316 main card, you’ll be seeing a middleweight contest pairing Kelvin Gastelum (19-9, 1 NC MMA, 13-9, 1 NC UFC) with Joe Pyfer (13-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in a rescheduling of a postponed fight from March 29, a bantamweight bout pitting No. 10 contender Mario Bautista (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) against Bellator MMA alumnus Patchy Mix (20-1 MMA, UFC promotional debut), and a welterweight bout between No. 14 contender Vicente Luque (23-10-1 MMA, 16-6 UFC) and Kevin Holland (27-13, 1 NC MMA, 14-10, 1 NC UFC.)
