The UFC is back with yet another fight night at the Apex in Las Vegas as MMASucka brings you UFC Vegas 55 results. This weekend, the main event will feature a women’s bantamweight matchup between former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira.

UFC Vegas 55 Results – Main Event

In 2015, Holly Holm became the UFC women’s bantamweight champion with one of the biggest upsets anyone had ever seen when she finished Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. That win put her record at 10-0, but since then, Holm has not been able to find that same success. She lost the belt in her first title defense against Miesha Tate and then ended up losing her next two after that. Since she suffered those three losses in a row, Holm has been able to get back on track with a 4-2 record in her last six fights.

Among those six fights, Holm challenged for both the bantamweight title and the featherweight title. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful in both of those outings, losing against Cris Cyborg at UFC 219 and being finished by Amanda Nunes at UFC 239. Since she lost to Nunes, Holm has won he last two in a row with her last outing happening a little less than two years ago in 2020. The first of those wins she picked up was at the beginning of 2020 where she defeated Raquel Pennington by unanimous decision at UFC 246. The next win, which was also her most recent fight, happened later that year where she picked up another unanimous decision win over Irene Aldana in the main event of UFC on ESPN 16.

Like Holm, Ketlen Vieira started her professional career with an undefeated record of 10-0. She made her UFC debut in 2016 and quickly put together four straight wins in the octagon. Vieira picked up decision wins over Kelly FaszholzAshlee Evans-Smith and Cat Zingano. Among those four wins she also picked up a submission win over Sara McMann at UFC 215.

At the end of 2019, Vieira began alternating wins and losses with each outing as her perfect record was ruined by a knockout loss to Irene Aldana at UFC 245. Following that loss, she picked up a unanimous decision win over Sijara Eubanks at UFC 253. The next loss was against Yana Kunitskaya by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 185. Finally, her most recent win was a unanimous decision win over former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate in the main event of UFC Vegas 43. Vieira attempts to pick up her second win in a row over a former champion if she can get by Holm on Saturday.

UFC Vegas 55 Results – Co-Main Event

In Saturday night’s co-main event, welterweights Santiago Ponzinibbio and Michel Pereira face off. From 2015-2018, Ponzinibbio had put together a seven fight win streak with some notable wins including those over Mike PerryNeil Magny and Gunnar Nelson. After his win over Magny in 2018, Ponzinibbio was not able to get another fight booked until 2020 when he faced Li Jingliang at UFC on ABC 1. Ponzinibbio’s win streak was snapped in that fight after Jingliang knocked him out in the first round.

Ponzinibbio was able to pick up a win after that loss as he defeated Miguel Baeza by unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 28. Ponzinibbio will be entering this fight coming off a loss in his last outing as he lost a split decision to Geoff Neal at UFC 269.

Michel Pereira made his UFC debut back in 2019 and since then he has been able to put together a record of 5-2. In his debut, he quickly picked up a win with a first round knockout over Danny Roberts at UFC Fight Night 152. After that, he lost his next two in a row suffering a UD loss to Tristan Connelly at UFC Fight Night 158, followed by a DQ loss to Diego Sanchez due to an illegal knee at UFC Fight Night 167.

Entering Saturday’s matchup with Ponzinibbio, Pereira has won his last four in a row. Following the DQ loss, he picked up a submission win over Zelim Imadaev at UFC Fight Night 176. After that win, Pereira has since won three unanimous decisions in a row with a win over Khaos Williams at UFC Fight Night 183Niko Price at UFC 264 and Andre Fialho at UFC 270.
