Arman Tsarukyan plans to have a quick night in the office when he takes on Mauricio Ruffy.

In the UFC, a fighter works so hard that one day they reach the top of the division and eventually become the champion. However, Arman Tsarukyan hasn’t been able to achieve that same dream despite being at the top for some time. Meanwhile, ahead of his upcoming UFC 331 fight, Tsarukyan has clearly said that he wants to finish Mauricio Ruffy and show everyone that he is ready for a title shot.

Arman Tsarukyan Says He Won’t Need Five Rounds to Make His Title Case

The Armenian said that he does not want his upcoming fight to go to a decision. Instead, he wants to get the finish, put on an exciting fight, and prove that he deserves to be next in line for the UFC title against Justin Gaethje.

In his words, “I'm not gonna need five rounds. This fight puts me on the fight for the title, contender number one, yeah. Of course I was looking for the statement to show that I'm not a decision machine. I'm the guy who came and finished. I'm gonna looking for a finish. I want to show an exciting fight.”

For those who don’t know, Tsarukyan is currently the No. 2-ranked lightweight fighter and has not lost since 2022. He is currently riding a five-fight winning streak, which includes wins over Beneil Dariush, Charles Oliveira, and Dan Hooker. He has proven to everyone that he is a title contender, and he even got a title shot, but after backing out at the last moment before the Islam Makhachev fight, his shot moved very far away from him. However, now he wants to finish Ruffy to earn another title shot.

Arman Tsarukyan Says a Loss to Mauricio Ruffy Could End His UFC Title Dream

Tsarukyan knows how important his upcoming fight is. He sees Ruffy as one of the best strikers in the division and is treating this fight like a title fight. The Armenian says he is giving everything in training because he believes a loss here could end his dream of fighting for the UFC title.

“He's I feel like the best striker right now in our division, I'm taking Mauricio Ruffy like it's a title fight. Every fight for me is important, give all myself in training camp and if I'm gonna lose this fight I'm never gonna see a title fight,” Tsarukyan stated.

It will be interesting to see what happens at UFC 331. The Armenian knows he needs a big win over Ruffy. But the big question is, what happens next? If he wins, will he finally get the title shot he has been waiting for?
