Is Usman Nurmagomedov finally set to make the move to the UFC?

The UFC actively finds talent from all over the world. Recently, fans saw SalahDine Parnasse, a former KSW Featherweight and Lightweight Champion, make his UFC debut and finish Dan Hooker in round one. After that finish, he jumped straight to number nine in the division.

Fans always love seeing fighters transition to the UFC. Big names like Michael Chandler, Reinier de Ridder, and others have joined and made huge statements in the Octagon. Recently, there have been rumors of Usman Nurmagomedov joining the UFC, which is a big deal, as coming from the Nurmagomedov family brings a massive fan base with it.

Usman Nurmagomedov Can Join UFC Any Time Soon

The UFC would never ignore a talent like Usman Nurmagomedov. He is currently a free agent after completing his PFL contract and has no plans of signing again. He was the lightweight champion at PFL and defended his belt multiple times there. His teammates, including Islam Makhachev, have claimed that Nurmagomedov is UFC ready.

Fans online have already started hyping up the 28-year-old's potential UFC arrival. However, no officials have confirmed this yet. Additionally, Makhachev believes that if the former PFL lightweight champion joins the UFC, he might get a direct title shot or a number one contender fight.

The UFC welterweight champion also mentioned that no one is interested in watching him in the PFL anymore and claimed that he is 90% sure that Nurmagomedov will join the UFC. Meanwhile, fans will have to wait for an official confirmation, as the UFC hasn't announced anything yet.

Islam Makhachev Says There's A Big Chance Usman Nurmagomedov Will Join The UFC

Islam Makhachev thinks there’s a 90% chance Usman Nurmagomedov ends up in the UFC. He believes the 28-year-old has outgrown the PFL and that there isn’t much left for him there, especially with fans seeing the same opponents in rematches. Speaking to Match TV, he said:

“I can’t give you a 100% answer. But 90%? Yes. I think Usman has already grown beyond where he is now. Not many people are interested anymore in seeing him fight rematches in the PFL. I think right now is the perfect time for him to come to the UFC.”

The 34-year-old feels this is the right time for Usman to leave the PFL and see how he matches up against the UFC’s best lightweights. If the move happens, it could be a huge step for Nurmagomedov and one of the more interesting signings the UFC has made in recent years.
