Dan Hooker Jibes at Ian Machado Garry’s ‘Professional’ Guideline for Reporters

Dan Hooker displayed his easygoing character once more at the media day of UFC Paris. The New Zealand native announced his openness with a funny jibe at Ian Machado Garry's directions to control the type of questions coming from the reporters.

Hooker initially quoted Garry's words and later mentioned that such issues don't bother him.

Several fighters prefer to keep certain aspects of their lives private. Hence, they don't really appreciate reporters questioning them about those matters. To consider an example, many may know that most Dagestani fighters don't like discussing their personal lives on public platforms.

Garry put forward a similar proposal for the reporters during his UFC 330 media day interaction before his welterweight title fight against Islam Makhachev. Right after taking the mic, the Irish fighter said, "Before we start, let's stick to the professional stuff, yeah?"

Considering his unfiltered and easygoing persona, Hooker might have thrown many off as he imitated Garry's instructions as soon as he took the mic at the UFC Paris media day. 'Hangman' said, "Guys, before we start, can we keep it professional? Alright?" with a smirk on his face.

However, he morphed into his real character soon, saying, "Nah, ask me anything. Let's go. Let's have fun."

This is far from being the first time that Hooker has displayed his frolicking persona. While most fighters focus on their cornermen's instructions during the interval between rounds, Hooker was heard saying, "Boys, I love this," during a round interval of his UFC 305 encounter despite having two gnarly cuts around his eye.

The New Zealander's fight against Salahdine Parnasse is set to headline UFC Paris. Following two consecutive defeats in his last two encounters, it's apparent that Hooker will be desperate to return to the winning column with a victory over Parnasse.
