After coming up short in his bid to be Cain Velasquez’s opponent, Roy Nelson will have another former heavyweight title challenger to do battle with. Dana White confirmed via twitter that Nelson will take on Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga at UFC 146.
After coming up short in his bid to be Cain Velasquez’s opponent, Roy Nelson will have another former heavyweight title challenger to do battle with. Dana White confirmed via twitter that Nelson will take on Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga at UFC 146.
“Roy Nelson vs Gabe Gonzaga” proclaimed White’s twitter account, with the official UFC twitter account adding that the bout will take place at UFC 146, the unique all-heavyweight affair.
The popular Nelson has lost three of his last four fights, with his most recent fight being a decision loss to Fabricio Werdum. Gonzaga most recently defeated Edinaldo Oliveira at UFC 142.
