Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney continue with the verbal spat on X. Raises speculations about a possible bout.

X has witnessed the reignition of the simmering rivalry between Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney.

Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney continue bickering online

It is not the first time that the two boxing stars have been going toe-to-toe on Social Media. On June 9, Devin Haney replied to one of Stevenson’s posts. In the post, Stevenson had cited the 2013 Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez as an example. He ultimately claimed that a fight at 144 pounds is a fair ask. To this, Haney replied with a straightforward question.

“If I come to 144.. we have a fight?”

Just when fans had thought their wishes came true, it vanished. The possibility of the fight was gone without a signature.

Recently, however, the rivalry has become public once again. It started with the WBO welterweight champion sharing an AI-generated boxing edit on his Instagram. Shortly after, Stevenson posted on X. Just two words, “Let’s Go”, while tagging Haney.

Haney quickly replied, “147.. no rehydration let’s get it done.”

Stevenson fired back, as well. “Oh so it’s not done? Why u post me on ya instagram then I thought the (censored) was done already.”

The bitter back-and-forth continued for quite some time. Haney insisted that the rehydration clause should be dropped. Whereas Stevenson started accusing Haney of being intimidated, The Dream quickly shot back.

“I fear none but Allah”, He wrote on X.

What the WBO super Lightweight replied next added fuel to the ongoing speculations.

“Prove it then! Let’s scrap. (Expletive deleted)  the online negotiations Lets drop our n*ts in front of the world and make the biggest and best fight in boxing!”

This has the fans conflicted. Although there is a real possibility of the two meeting in the ring, it’s not foolproof.

Stevenson faces criticism over “Moving Scared”

Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney have been fighting for a long time. That too, almost everywhere but the ring. Former Boxing figure Timothy Bradley has had enough of this online drama.

The Hall of Famer pointed his finger at Stevenson on his YouTube channel. He believes that the “Sugar” Shakur is "moving scared".

"You had an opportunity to fight Haney at 144lbs and, for whatever reason, you weren't comfortable with that," he stated.

For now, none of the boxers has signed for the potential bout. Even if they come to an agreement, the fight could take a long time to come to reality. Possibly months, by the time negotiations are settled.
